Work event Friday night. Apparently the best score gets $1000. I’m a single digit handicap and don’t know of anyone else in the office that plays golf. Want to make sure I bring this thing home. How douchey is it to show up with my own bag? FWIW, I’ve never been to a TopGolf.

It’s socially accepted and in fact, encouraged.

No spikes on the golf shoes though.

I've done it a few times. But I've also reached the point of not giving af what people think of me for the most part.

If you are the only guy that plays why do you also need personal clubs to win? I’d bring them in the truck and leave them there unless someone else brings them.

Few times that I went baws had their clubs with them. I even though about bringing mine because they are longer and the ones there are way too short for me.

If you bring your clubs just make sure you win. Don’t want to show up in your Tiger red and lose to Shawna from HR, not a good look.

lots of people do it, I don't necessarily see it as douchey, it did cost me about $600-700 once though!

ETA: as others have said, you don't need the whole bag

Bring your driver, pw, and a 7 or 8 iron. Carrying a full bag seems a bit much for office party.

It's not like you need all of them. You could probably bring a PW, 8 and 5 and be good to hit whatever you want.

I’d discuss it around the office and make sure you aren’t the only one.

If you are that good and the only one that plays and you are the only one that brings their own clubs and you win huge, that’s kinda douchy imo.

When money is on the line, do what you gotta do.

Just don’t lose because then you’re just the douche who brought his own clubs

I've never done Top Golf before. Do the balls have trackers in them that make them hit differently than regular balls? Are the balls as shitty as typical range balls?

You playing Top Golf for money (kinda trashy, but) you do what ya gotta do to win. I go to Top Golf to drink beer and enjoy.....Actually, that's how I play golf anytime.

If no one else plays golf and you are e a single digit handicap….It really shouldn’t matter that you are using the Top Golf clubs. Hell, you should get some old wooden sticks and show up if you really want to impress them.
