being Gay does not mean you support trans
Where yall went wrong was letting them infiltrate your movement.

My point is that, please stop making the assumption trans, cross dressing, gentian mutilation: is something that is normalized or understood by your average gay person.
More people like you need to shout this loudly

So you come on here looking for justification of your life style and end your diatribe by accusing straight people of being pedophiles. Got it. Change your ways while you still have time. As a married man I have a strong attraction to women but I have to control my urges. Adulatory is a sin. Men sleeping with men is a sin. Sorry! I didn't make the rules He did.

the interest aligns with what the gay community did with the Civil Rights. They saw how they were able to make changes over time. While the gay movement went to courts and did some various things, it was fairly organic and it's own movement.
Agree with it or not, the initial argument was let them get married and even though i'd consider myself a devout christian with strong biblical views on marriage, I'm hard to find a good legal reason to not let gay people be married and enjoy tax benefits, access to hospital visits, power of will, etc. I don't wish higher taxes on my worse enemy.
The trans and MAP people saw this as something they could ride the coattails of.
Personally, I felt like this was the best Pride month ever. Bud Light was reeling all month. MLB did pride logo for a day and took it away, Target got threats (from trans people) and put their pride stuff in the back, and Starbucks took down their pride stuff a few weeks early.
None of that would have happened if not for all the Trans attachment to the movement.
I read an interesting essay recently about the shifting of the machinery of activism and movements from one cause to another. Basically the premise was there is an infrastructure of components, fundraising, people, operational methods and relationships for protesting and it moves from cause to cause. The mission is staying on the leading edge of activist movements to continue to make money.
In other words the women's right to vote movement pivoted to the Civil Rights Movement which became the feminist movement to the Gay Rights movement to The Pro Choice movement to BLM and now the Alphabet Soup movement. The charities and community groups are re-purposed or founded as the sands shift but it is all the same basic people in each area.
One person might have been a picket line foot soldier in the Pro Choice rallies in the 90s and that person became a community leader in the BLM movement in the 2010s and gets a lot more of the fundraising cheese.

Good post. I have a bunch of gay friends and they're all like you. All come from good families, educated, hard working (very successful), and most of them with families of their own.
I'd wager most gay people are like that...normal people who want to just live their lives. It's just that you all don't move the needle for the politicians and media who want to sensationalize everything and divide us.

Andrew Sullivan has been advocating the same ideas as you for some time now.
Normalization to children of the trans, drag queen paradigm etc is a travesty of false equivalence, and perverse intrusion on parental authority.
Glad you had the balls to post it; one of my best former admins was gay.
Good luck.

This sounds reasonable and good.
Reminds me of the point of view of an old supervisor, my first job out of college. He was very professional, funny and cool. He was gay as I learned later on, but it was as irrelevant as me being straight. Just people being cool normal people.

in college I realized I wasn’t going to change into a “ flamboyant “gay person who goes to drag shows, or gay dance clubs. I was the same guy I was in high school, just kinda of a shy, nice guy, with career goals, places I wanted to travel, just a “ normal person” my age who likes outdoor stuff, enjoys a concert, football fan. Liked beer and dive bars, playing pool. Who just happens to be gay.
I have only known/been friends with 3 gay dudes in my entire life. 2 out of the 3 are exactly like you and you wouldn't ever really know they were gay u less they told you. Both successful guys with steady careers who do normal shite in their day to day lives.
The 3rd, however, was the first male cheerleader at my HS who was super flamboyant and I don't know that he ever "came out". Everyone just knew. He ended up moving to West Hollywood after school and got deep into the scene. Last I heard, he was a homeless drug addict.
The two normal dudes hold your same beliefs on the Trans issue. They believe that Trans people have taken shite way too far and used gay rights as a platform to piggyback and makes the gay community look bad with them. They try and distance Trans and gays as far as they can so people don't think they support some of the nonsense.

Nobody gives a frick about your sexual preferences. Why do people like you feel the need to broadcast it? I like smashing blondes doggystyle since we're broadcasting what kind of sex everyone likes now.
Boy..that gene is strong in this one … “ i can’t be gay..bc i like pounding girls (underline girls!!!) from the back!!!
Also, can’t believe it’s 3pages long and no one has clapped OP for his name - bison - bruh… you ain’t a Bi son … you a self announced gay son

the gays really need to speak up more and be at the forefront on this issue
This is what needs to happen. Groups of people who are gay need to step up and demand to be separated from this trans movement. If you don't, it's only a matter of time before pedos try to latch onto the whole movement and gays are lumped in with that. To me, who you choose to love, spend time with, and be intimate with is much different than altering physical biological characteristics.

You’ll get some downvotes for this.
I appreciate the OP’s honesty and his clear rejection and disassociation with the sexual identity madness sweeping society.
He’s got the splinters in their eyes sharply in focus but is ignoring, or blind to, the log in his own.
OP, raised Roman Catholic, took hiatus from going to church in college. Doesn’t say if he went back but claims he considers himself a religious person. I don’t know if that means he considers himself a Christian.
What you wrote takes the legs out from under the “I was born this way” argument of someone claiming they’re a Christian but wants an exemption for their particular coveted sin. Like you wrote, that’s just not how it works.
Temptations to forbidden attractions, temptations to various and sundry sins, sexual or otherwise, aren’t sin. Sin is acting on those temptations whether they’re homosexual sins or heterosexual ones. Period.

Key and Peele had a great skit on this kind of thing.
Not all gays are over the top "support trans or you're a bigot" type idiots.
