There are 2 lesbians that live near me, both young and military. Kinda tomboyish, but still pretty enough and very nice, not militant.
They have 0 to do with our Alphabet Contingent of fat overweight lesbians and suburban moms that all hang rainbow flags and post non-stop racism and trans affirming stuff (but definitely don't want gay/trans kids.)
i've seen them actively avoid those people at neigborhood functions.

I have a lesbian coworker that isn't outspoken about it but feels the same way. I laughed pretty hard one day when she saw an email signature with pronouns and said, "wtf is this bullshite?!?"
Agreed there is a big difference between the interests of LGB and the rest of the alphabet soup. I suspect the fear of being canceled is what keeps more from calling out the insanity that has taken over.

the interest aligns with what the gay community did with the Civil Rights. They saw how they were able to make changes over time. While the gay movement went to courts and did some various things, it was fairly organic and it's own movement.
Agree with it or not, the initial argument was let them get married and even though i'd consider myself a devout christian with strong biblical views on marriage, I'm hard to find a good legal reason to not let gay people be married and enjoy tax benefits, access to hospital visits, power of will, etc. I don't wish higher taxes on my worse enemy.
The trans and MAP people saw this as something they could ride the coattails of.
Personally, I felt like this was the best Pride month ever. Bud Light was reeling all month. MLB did pride logo for a day and took it away, Target got threats (from trans people) and put their pride stuff in the back, and Starbucks took down their pride stuff a few weeks early.
None of that would have happened if not for all the Trans attachment to the movement.
