Just jumped on a flight from EWR to IAH. No delays, so I suppose I'm beating the bad stuff there.

I heard Humble/Kingwood is at risk today/tomorrow.

RIP KCC

Eta
Spoken too soon. Love it when they tell us about delays after we board the plane.

Pilot sounded concerned about the arrival into Houston. Prayers needed.

Man my heart goes out to you guys. Hoping it doesn't get in your house. It's pouring here in sienna right now.

Me too. Flooding sucks. The feeling of helplessness over the situation is... when it is happening to you.

I heard they were closing this past Monday afternoon due to rising waters. I would call them for sure... Might need to reschedule somewhere more south, like in Pearland or Friendswood.

You live in the very back? I'm a few streets up from you but still within half mile or so of the fields.

Yep, the very last section.

On a side note, I saw Kareem Jackson checking out Camp Sienna yesterday evening and came real close to giving him a Geaux Tigers.

Is there a reservoir upstream of the Richmond area that helps control flooding?

There are no reservoirs upstream of Richmond on the Brazos below Lake Whitney (which is NW of Waco--a long way upstream). There were earlier plans to build as many as 13 reservoirs on the Brazos, but a 1960 book (Goodbye to a River) turned public opinion against dam building.

Why are the other areas that flooded in March not flooding now?

The major flooding across Houston in the middle of April was due to the amount of rainfall, 15-20" in some areas.

This flooding is happening bc of the amount of rain they had last week north of Houston in the Brenhan, Austin, Dallas area. All of that rain flows into the Brazos watershed and effects everyone along the banks downstream

How is it up there? I'm supposed to drive up there tomorrow afternoon but it is looking like that would be a shite show. Transtar shows high water in several areas on 45 above the beltway.

Close to 45 gets pretty bad. I'm towards the back near 2978 (which at one point was up to my bumper on an FX4), but the water recedes fairly quickly. 45 Feeders and on-ramps were trashed from what I've heard. Haven't ventured that way yet. I will tomorrow though, coming into BR for the baseball games...hopefully TX/LA line isn't flooded like last time...

Damn, I'll need to check in with Pops to see how it is. He said he had an interesting drive this morning from KW to the NW side of the Beltway, so who knows

Taking a bird out on Monday over Thompsons... I'll provide updates (I know it's a few days out, but based on the current river level forecast, that shouldn't matter).
