Couldn't agree more. I'll admit I'm a bit biased when someone is actually indicted, but the original accusation/arrest should be taken with a grain of salt these days.
Do you have any idea how easy it is to get an indictment? DAs can indict someone with the flimsiest of evidence. The whole system for grand juries is set up to favor the prosecution.

This was their 1st meeting and it occurred at her apartment?
I'm not saying that she was DTF, but that's giving the sign that you're DTF.
If the guy's guilty, that sucks, but hopefully being attracted to the guy and inviting him into her bedroom makes the trauma a little easier to get over as opposed to being pulled into the bushes with a knife to your throat.

This is stink bait to white knights.

Thus seems fishy. Forensic techs can easily recover these.

To be honest I'm surprised they release anyone's name before a conviction. Kind of fricked up when you think about it .
I can get on board with that and I've never argued against it.
Making the accuser come forward because the accused had a great attorney is where I vehemently draw the line.

This, this is the problem with the world. Only caring about one side of the story. Only caring about what the media wants to show you.
I rest my case.

The report I just read said 7% of rape accusations result in guilty verdicts while 51% of cases that go through a trial result in a guilty verdict.
My original point still stands - cases that make it to this point are a far cry from the Jameis Winston or Duke LAX thing.

Way to take that quote out of context. I'm obviously replying to your suggestion that both should be sealed. I don't care = I've got no desire to keep the accused public.

I thought the notion behind this is to give an avenue for all of Cosby's victims to come forward

I understand the sentiment, but I have a hard time supporting anything that makes it more difficult/traumatizing for a real victim to come forward. Whether we like it or not, there are legitimate rapes that go unreported because of the public backlash that victims receive already.
Boo fricking hoo. If so many women hadn't cried wolf and ruined the lives of so many innocent men then maybe people would actually believe women when they say they are raped.

The accuser is going to public accuse the accused the accuser should be made public as well.
Rape shield laws are absolutely abhorrent.

The innocent guy should hold a press conference, saying that he's glad this ordeal is over and he thinks that Amber Stegall needs to take it easy on tinder as she obviously confused me with one if the other guys she's had over.

Then keep the entire case sealed. The idea that the only workaround is to out the accuse is ridiculous.

Nah, they aren't. They do more good than bad despite what you read on a college sports message board.
If someone violently sodomized you your opinion of rape shield laws would be much different.

Is this real?

Some details from the article that are of interest.
“He raped her, and tried to turn it into roleplay,” the prosecutor said. “This wasn’t roleplay. This wasn’t agreed upon. There was the absence of ‘yes.’ That means there was the presence of ‘no.’” So the prosecutor went with that affirmative response is required argument. We are truly coming to the time when you are going to need to get a consent form signed.
Gill alleged the woman used handcuffs, whips, blindfolds and other items in the past, and even whispered, “Let’s try something,” into Witz’s ear after telling him her shirt cost only $2. I think the guy had her delete the texts, shower and whatnot after because he knew she was whacky and saw this train coming down the tracks. Never should have slept with her.
Gill, who noted the woman had a boyfriend at the time of the alleged rape, accused the alleged victim of putting on a “show” in court while on the witness stand and shedding crocodile tears. “When cheaters get caught, they deny, deny, deny,” he told the jury. Ballsy move by the Defense Attorney. He ran a very real risk of pissing off the jury with this tactic.
Gill said it was the woman who found Witz on Tinder and invited him to her apartment, then into her bedroom. If he could prove that, I can see the jury getting reasonable doubt from that alone.
Cardia-Porter acknowledged the woman was naive and gullible but still the victim of rape. Hmmmm... Jury didn't buy that apparently.
Inside that bedroom, Cardia-Porter said, the bigger and stronger Witz prevented the woman from resisting his unwanted sexual advances. Witz pulled the woman’s shorts down, and after she pulled them up, he pulled them down again and performed oral sex on her, the prosecutor said. Thoughtful gentleman. I wonder how this played with the women on the jury.
He later slapped her and raped her, Cardia-Porter argued. Well OK then.

I find it disturbing how many of you seem to be friends with some really rapey people.
I went to college. I had friends who were constantly partying. Neither my friends or I were falsely accused of rape.
There are a few high profile frick ups, don't get me wrong, but the idea that there is some rash of women just making it up is ridiculous. Most studies suggest fewer than 8% of accusations are truly false accusations.
If someone says they were raped and is seeking a civil suit, you may have a point, but you're taking your anger out on the wrong people.
