SJA Names Executive Director of Mission Integration JUL 19 2022 3:26 PM St. Joseph’s Academy announced today that Ryan Hallford has been named to the newly created position of executive director of mission integration. As directed by the goals and objectives in SJA’s Faith Development Strategic Plan, Hallford will lead the development, design and presentation of educational programs and processes for faculty, staff and school leadership formation rooted in the Gospel, the teachings of the Catholic Church and the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph. He will work to integrate the Gospel, Catholic Church teachings and the charism and spirituality of the Sisters into all student offerings. SJA President Jan Rhorer Breen ’69 said that the creation of the new position ensures that the legacy and charism of the Sisters continue for generations to come. She said that Hallford is a natural fit for the position because he has a heart for the charism of the Sisters. “Meeting Ryan, we were struck by his ability to build relationships, his pastoral heart and his deep faith,” Breen said. “With more than two decades of faith formation experience with young people and adults, Ryan will be a tremendous asset in forming leaders, faculty, staff, parents and students in the Gospel, the teachings of the Catholic Church and the charism of the Sisters.” Most recently the pastor of Holy Family in Port Allen, Hallford requested a leave of absence from active ministry, which Bishop Michael Duca granted effective July 1. Hallford earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy and literature from Louisiana State University and a master of divinity from Notre Dame Seminary. He also has experience teaching at the middle school, high school and university levels. He said he looks forward to using his gifts and formation to serve the SJA community. “My experiences as a teacher, youth minister, caregiver and pastor have helped me simplify my life plans and realize I want to spend my life serving the family of the Church,” Hallford said. “I look forward to journeying with the St. Joseph’s Academy community as we all strive to grow in our ability to love God and each other.”
