BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting on North Foster Drive that left multiple people injured. One of the victims later died of his injuries.

The shooting happened around 2:52 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, in the 2200 block of N. Foster Drive, which is close to the Triple S Mart. Video submitted to UWK shows the scene just minutes after the shooting occurred, with police units blocking the roadway and crime scene tape set up.

BRPD officers responded to the scene regarding a shooting with multiple victims. When they arrived, officers discovered two males with gunshot wounds. They were transported to a local hospital, police say.

One of those men, 39-year-old Jonathan Nicholas later died of his injuries, according to BRPD.

BRPD reported that two other male victims were taken to a local hospital by personal vehicle for treatment.

According to their investigation, BRPD detectives learned that Nicholas and one of the other victims were outside the Triple S store with a crowd of people when the shooting occurred. Other victims were in a vehicle passing through the intersection when their vehicle was hit by gunfire, police say. The three other victims are expected to survive their injuries.

Detectives do not have any suspect(s) or motive at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.

When do the riots start? Certainly the community will be as upset about this as when the guy was killed while pulling a gun on the two police officers?

Right? Right?

Please don’t. The same people who paid them off are now catching indictments for corruption. Shocked face [ON].

If you are hanging around outside of a place like that after 2am, hell you want to get shot and killed.

There is an entire segment of our population that does not understand risks vs. consequences.

I've been seeing videos of the nightlife on Foster recently. It's become quite the strip of BR nightlife.

That segment of the community has an affinity of always hanging out at gas stations and food marts past 12 a.m.
