With $1.1 million in fare revenue listed, and a single ride full fare $1.75 the math scale doesn’t really work out.

They would roughly need 500k riders at $1.75 for $875000 and what, another 900k riders as “transfers” at .25c for the other $225k to make the total 1.4 million passengers.

They do offer free and reduce fare rides for certain people

quote:

Free Rides

16 Capitol Park Shuttle: Free for all riders

Special events: CATS may waive fares for special events like early voting and Election Day

quote:

Reduced fares

Students: Students with a valid ID from Southern University, Louisiana State University, or BRCC ride for free

Seniors: Senior citizens (ages 62 and older) ride for $.35

People with disabilities: People with disabilities who show a CATS ID card ride for $.35

Medicare cardholders: Medicare cardholders ride for $.35

It would be cheaper to sub out rides on uber and lyft than have bus service.

CATS slows down the city with its buses stopping on arterial roads more than it moves it.

Such a waste of tax dollars. Shut the whole thing down.

You move maybe 1000 people a day

And it's probably the same people day in and day out. It would be cheaper to just buy these people their own cars.

Well, they move the 4 people who ride buses in this town, anyway.

There’s a reason they started wrapping the buses with advertising; now you can’t see no one rides them.

I see a bunch of people who have probably never ridden on a CATS bus.

That's like my pinky toe saying "I move this body."

Sure, a tiny fraction of it. And if the pinky toe stopped me from moving I wouldn't hesitate long before cutting it off

Jacksonville Florida has a “people mover” elevated tram that doesn’t go anywhere useful and has very limited riders.

However, if the city stops it, they lose federal money so it runs day after day.

Stupid shite.
