Montana may go blue in the next decade from those idiots voting for the same shite they got away from.
The people I know that have bought in Montana the last decade never voted blue even though a few of them are from some blue states.

My sleepy little area has been overrun by blue state refugees. I'm sick of seeing the Vermont and New York plates here in NW Montana. Bozeman is at a whole other level though.
You live in Polebridge? How many people even live there? Like under 50?

California ruined Bozeman, Big Sky and now they are working on White fish.

If this is true, this is a great sign on the direction the place will be going.
It will also be too expensive for the common man soon.

Property taxes on $1.5m might sting a bit

Looking to sell my Idaho investments this spring/summer. It’s not that I don’t like it there, but the I have other things I want to do. Depending on where you look, Idaho ain’t cheap. Ketchum and Hailey out by Sun Valley are ridiculous and Boise isn’t cheap.

Just from the OP, I can imagine this thread is filled with alternatives to buy cheaper homes in Montana in places without the good job.

Friend from Mobile built his wife a house and horse stables in Lewiston 20 years ago. Told me then that if you move to Montana ya need to bring yer own money cause ya ain’t making any in Montana.

Wonder how big of a Yellowstone effect there really has been there?

Just clicked through Zillow. The prices are a little high but not obnoxious or anything.
Your examples were outliers.

That’s painfully stupid to spend a million dollars on a small arse house just to be in Bozeman, Montana
I'm sure most people imagine they're going to spend far more time outdoors than they actually do after a certain age.

Well then there must be 100 outlier out there because I stopped after three to not make the post a long list of links. Saw one condo - great view, sure, for close to two million, but it was only two million, no indoor pool or doorman was mentioned and how outdoorsy can you be if you live in an apartment? For me outdoorsy implies my own firepit and patio, at least something of a backyard, etc. Not a nice views.

He didn’t get a tenure-track offer in those places though.

Bozeman ain’t that nice Missoula on the other hand is like you died and went to heaven it’s so nice
Wrong. Missoula is kind of deserty, mountains are small, nice but could get old quick. Bozangeles has more charm and character but both go overboard in welcoming fudgepackers and trannies. Heard Billings is pretty faggy as well. This is the last frontier. Where can you go to find straight, White, conservative, normal?

Grand Junction is the Beaumont of Colorado
