Whatever, when I was a kid if I had a choice ( i didn't do girl scouts either)I would have picked boy scouts over girls. So this doesn't bother me. I think we tend to lump girls into this Barbie doll and unicorn box, and the ones that don't fit are left with nothing. Is it sad to see a change in an iconic brand, well yeah, but I don't think it should have been inclusive to just boys. Just my opinion.

They were pretty awesome. You still see a few at shows and they have a good following around the country. And, they used to have the sexiest ads in hot rod magazines back in the day.

Nah it won’t kill it, will just open it up for girls that want to participate. There will likely be few and the ones who join are girls that are at all of the events anyways because there brother is in scouts and the parents are involved. My daughter was at all kind of scouting stuff and participated in lots of the activities because why not, she just didn’t have a shirt or get belt loops.

Eagle Scout here.
It's over due.
Girls scouts is lame program where they are made into cookie sellers and that's it. They might get. 1 day day camp in the summer.
Other programs started co-ed and the point of scouts being a feeder to prepare youth for the military ended a long time ago. It still produces leadership, it still gives kids an outlet for physical activity through camping, learning skills, sports, and sciences.
It will just have patrols that consist of boys or girls now whole Cookie Scouts flounders still.
It's over due.
