False . Not only DO we legislate morality, virtually ALL legislation is based in morality. It is wrong to steal. Recognizing the universal consensus on this we establish laws to enforce this principle of our morality. If we then choose to not enforce these laws those who are prone to break the laws now have Carte Blanche to do so . It doesn’t matter if virtuous men such as yourself observe the law, because one unvirtous man can steal all day every day with near-impunity.

Boston is a very racist, segregated city

you didn't see many ghetto black people b/c you probably had no reason to go hang out there, just like how you probably didn't see many/any ghetto white people, either. they're forced into their specific areas in Boston

I did a quick look at mass law. As long as it’s within the walls of the house, you should be good. If you’re outside, you have a duty to retreat.

God damn I love Texas. I can shoot a fricker in the back for stealing a toaster.

So you can break the law and not get in trouble? Seems like a good idea.

Absolutely. We were north of Boston and it was a very nice area.

Also our clients there are not staunch liberals as I had expected.

There are quite a few people who would, that have not committed murder yet. People are actually deterred by laws and consequences. Higher intelligence people think and rights and wrongs. Lower intelligence people are just considering if they’ll face consequences and if it’s worth the risk

THIS is the crux of the argument. There is Prosecutorial Discretion for weak cases or exceptional circumstances but how does an elected official take the Oath of Office with the intent to not fulfill their duties? You can’t just blanket decide not to follow the law. That ain’t how it works.
That is grounds for impeachment and removal from said office. Can't be any "I swear to do the job of the office" and then NOT do the job. Yet another LibProgTard who wants no repercussions for being a LibProgTard, just a trophy and a check.

Minor driving offenses, including operating with a suspend or revoked license
Breaking and entering — where it is into a vacant property or where it is for the purpose of sleeping or seeking refuge from the cold and there is no actual damage to property Wanton or malicious destruction of property

Drug possession with intent to distribute
A stand alone resisting arrest charge, i.e. cases where a person is charged with resisting arrest and that is the only charge
A resisting arrest charge combined with only charges that all fall under the list of charges to decline to prosecute, e.g. resisting arrest charge combined only with a trespassing charge

i'd like to see the inner city demographics of who commits these level crimes....

No shite. Take the subway to Roxbury and enjoy . And as far as racism, Boston has always been the standard- bearer. Just because it’s SJW- centric doesn’t mean it’s not Boston. Jesus, just read about desegregation in Boston . It’s like historical ground zero for Northern racist mobs.

You can't be serious with this comment. What does the color/race of the DA matter when you are basically saying we won't prosecute most crimes.

Some of you seek victimism in every thread.

Decriminalizing drugs is one thing, but decriminalizing theft is dangerous.

If I own a restaurant, gas station, grocery store, liquor store or even a Wal-Mart type store I think about moving out of Boston.

I guess anyone can now eat a meal and skip on the bill. I know they may get community service but why even show up to do it.

As alwasy, liberalism is a mental disorder. This DA proves it, regardless of her color or race. No rational thought, no common sense, not forward sight to understand what will happen to law abiding citizens.

So, with lawlessness?

And so would the OT if the DA was a different gender and race.

No fricking way. Now, most would agree with this lady IF it were only simple drug possession. But, she's legalizing drug DEALING, minor property crime and certain other quasi violent crimes.

Her gender or race doesn't have anything to do with this being an extraordinarily stupid idea/set of policies for a chief prosecutor of any jurisdiction.

Period.

Yes, it is.

Sentencing just needs to be caned. Six licks with that Singapore cane on first offense. Month in the clink working 14 hours a day outside. Probation requiring GED or job training attendance at the earliest possible time. Failure to appear, arrest, 10 licks, two months of work. Third strike, 25 licks and two years.

So stupid. Plenty of people would do horrible crimes if getting caught meant nothing. I wouldnt cause I dont have anyone on my "to kill" list, but if I did...I'd think about it. Which is just the start.

All the riots, and looting the last few yrs have proven this. Unless you think all the blacks doing the looting have been caught/uncaught criminals already.

I mean some of these
quote:

Disorderly conduct
Disturbing the peace
Minor driving offenses, including operating with a suspend or revoked license
Threats – excluding domestic violence
Minor in possession of alcohol
stand alone resisting arrest charge, i.e. cases where a person is charged with resisting arrest and that is the only charge

I can get behind. Cops love to charge resisting arrest for bullshite reasons as a catch all to make you come to court and pay a fine which is summarily dismissed. It’s a waste of resources, especially when it’s the only charge.

But I have zero faith that’s what this lady was going for here.

I'm in!

Nah, it's just that the default position is to decline charges. She's supposedly willing to prosecute cases on an individual basis if they're warranted, but outside of a special circumstance, they'll be dismissed or treated with civil penalties.

It's wreck less on the surface unless she can handle those who abuse it.
