Debt started before us. I remember candy for a penny and a nickel coke as a child. You can blame the debt on stupid voters. They're the ones who fall for unpaid pork and handouts as proof that they have representation that's looking out for them.

Lolz. Okay, Boomer.

Also a Gen Xer and Boomers fall in two camps:

Traditional family, strong values, strict with clear picture of right vs wrong. They follow their parents. (My boomer mom and dad - think Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino)

Ex 60’s hippy flower children weak fricks with no values, liberal “who am I to judge” mentality, live to protest, want to be “cool” to their kids and have been 1 degree from communism or socialism since college. They rebelled against their parents. (Hoffman as Fockers dad)

It’s that second group that is the problem.

Ah yes. If you’re critical of something, it is because of your short comings.

Boomers are the wealthiest group and vote more than any other generation.

—this is true of the oldest demographic throughout US history. And the whiniest but least-voting group are the young.

about not being able to move out of their parents house until they are 25

—This is a weak argument. We told our boys since grade school they were moving out at 18, going to college and then finding their own place and job. It worked because they knew that being an adult meant acting like an adult.

We told them these rules were in place because we loved them and wanted them to be men. It worked.

And yes, we see them frequently and they are successful.

I don't think this is the gov't windfall that you are describing. My understanding is that the law was passed to allow those that qualify for gov't pensions to also receive the SS benefits that they earned through secondary means of employment/careers. The previous law did not allow them to have access to SS despite paying into it for years.

Maybe you should talk to a therapist about why your shortcomings aren’t the fault of some other group.

Maybe you can find what therapist commonly call, “your genuine authentic self” or maybe just stop being a pussy.

It’s confusing to me. What I gather is that they worked for decades in a job where they didn’t pay SS and were entitled to a pension. Then worked in a job where they did pay SS. The wages from both jobs were used to calculate their SS benefits. The WEP attempted to correct this. The new law eliminates the WEP

You did a great job. If everyone did the same we'd be better off.

But it has become far too common to see 25 year old "kids" still living at home.

Boomers hated Vietnam or have you never heard of the protests in the 1960s against the war?

Right. The entire world had high hopes for yall. Yall were supposed to be for freedom. But instead you just elected a bunch more of the same assholes. Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq. Same old song. You guys didnt start it but you didnt stop it either. No civil rights progress since the 60s. More big government than ever. And massive federal debt.

I've always admired that generation as a working generation. It seems that the one thing they heard their parents worry about was retirement stability. Pensions, SS, and Medicare, etc. For the longest time I understood their message. We worked all our lives, we should live out our golden years knowing I have income and health benefits. But where they lost me was this most recent bullshite where Govt employees were paid a pension with tax payer dollars, now they want SS too, which me and my employer are contributing over 20k a year to, and and some point either me or my kids won't be able to recoup.

How much more do they need?

That is a government issue. Not a generation issue. If they dont deserve it, the government should not give it to them

Just like the countless young able bodied people these days sitting around drawing a check because they are too fricking lazy to have a job. The issue is that the government is buying their votes by keeping them up instead of forcing them to go to work by not paying them tax dollars to sit around and play video games.

The problem is not the generation, it is the coddling. Dont give it to them if they dont deserve it. Then, people will make adjustments. No matter the generation

You want to blame all the boomers for Shipping all US manufacturing jobs overseas? Macro and micro messaging and policies pushing younger generations to college. How about the national freaking debt?

You do know that there are 545 people in Washington, DC that decide on all that stuff, not individual boomers.

My Greatest generation parents raised their kids right. I raised my kids right. All college educated with careers, stayed out of trouble, are polite, respectful and professional. No government assistance and not woke.

Y’all placing blame on the wrong shoulders. The House, Senate, Supreme Court and Presidents have put this country where it is along with the state and local municipalities that promote government handouts.

Yes, they are wealthy because they all had jobs from a very young age , like a paper route or grass cutting business at 12 or working after school in a store or family business......they started a shitty apartment that they paid the rent for, with a stereo and TV on concrete blocks not a designer antique piece and a mattress on the floor, while attending a local college or university, not a "top 10" 80k a year destination school, and they paid their OWN tuition to attend that college, and worked their way from that shithole apartment into a really nice house while they still found a way to have savings.
Your generation has to be Instagram ready from their "I am better than you" college dorm rooms to their luxury purses and cars or or they cry and threaten suicide while drinking 15.00 glasses of wine in an influencer recommended hotel lobby wine bar.
You are your own problem and biggest detractors. Quit blaming those who worked their asses to the bone and saved and are now enjoying it. You are a bunch of entitled whiners. Work harder and quit showing out for social media.
