I think Texas passed legislation to allow sales starting at 10am on Sundays. It would go into affect in September.

Not sure I’ve ever seen a poster move the goalposts so far so quickly

I’d probably hate Baton Rouge too if I grew up in Scotlandville

Newb Hint: They serve wine at mass. (albeit small portions and they do frown on looping around for another taste)

Newb hint #2: You can buy all the beer, wine, liquor you can carry every Saturday prior to the purchasing moratorium on Sunday.

You guys are fortunate that you can buy that poison at all. Regardless, you may hate this one but buy that crap the day before. If I was a drinker that had to have alcohol on Sundays I promise you that I would have the wisdom to buy my bottle on Saturday. It isn't much of an inconvenience.

Why? What fricking sense does that make?

Jesus didn't drink beer.

The crazy law I strongly disagree with is the law that a restaurant cannot sell alcohol within a certain amount of feet from a church. This law has stopped a few major chains from building in Walker.

7am-2am 7 days a week here

I remember growing up in LA and the liquor aisle was roped off on Sunday mornings

East Baton Rouge is 6am. Not that you should know that. But I do. Don't judge me.

Frank's has mimosas at opening-early. For some reason, I like them more than most.

Serious question—is there really a difference because they all look, talk, and act alike.

What restaurant and/or bar are you getting a drink at on a Sunday morning before 10 am in BR?

Baton Rouge Ruby Slipper serves every morning at 7am.

Load up some coolers on Saturday night and keep iced down.

Sell out of back of truck on Sunday morning anywhere you can’t buy it on a Sunday or there are restricted hours

BR got rid of theirs 8-9 years ago because they realized people were just driving to a neighboring parish to buy

Little know fact. One of our metro council members made a damned good argument for knocking it completely out (we could already buy booze on Sundays at 1100 for a few years before this) thanks for Saints winning the Super Bowl. Something like this.
"Saints fans want to make blood Mary's and mimosas for a 12pm kickoff and barely have time to get alcohol and back home for kickoff." Nobody touched that one! And now we can get booze at 6am on Sunday mornings.

I don't remember the exact specifics, but that had something to do with why Albertsons on College drive started selling it's liquor in an entirely portioned off area like it does now, or at least used to. There is or was a church somewhere around there at one point and that somehow bypassed something to where they could sell it at all. I don't remember the details, and I'm basing all this off of a conversation I had with someone 20 years ago so this entire post could possibly be bullshite, but I remember something about that.
