Isn’t that just the way every Albertsons floor plan is designed? Whether a separate liquor store is legally required or not

They're not all completely separated like that one. You can't walk between the two. You have to check out, then walk out the store and back into the other. The others aren't like that.

The whole state of Texas had no liquor for sale after 9pm any night when I lived there from 1983-2010. Parts of a city the size of Dallas didn't sell anything but beer and wine too. Freaked me out when I first moved there.

I wouldn't be surprised if I found out that blue laws originated in Alabama.

In Tuscaloosa, you can't buy alcohol before 12:30 PM on Sunday or after 9:30 at night.

I have no idea who couldn't even decide to begin or end the alcohol sales at the top of an hour.

The state run liquor stores in some counties are God awful. They close at like 6pm and the prices are double what they are in other places. I remember paying like $23 for a fifth of Bacardi in Jasper years ago that cost about $11 here.
