I would agree with the exception of #4. I would sub in "don't have children that you can't provide for (through birth control means, not abortion).

For me, as a culture, it comes down to how you view/respect life. If you belong to a particular subculture that views abortion negatively, then your group is more likely to respect life in other areas as well (thinking about gang violence here).

Explain this logic. It seems like they need more abortions not less.

ETA I see you just answered it. Agree to disagree, being anti abortion doesn't mean a person is pro life. Some of the most anti abortion people I know love a good war or execution.

Ftr, I know several black men who are great fathers. In the big picture, though, it's anecdotal. The percentages don't lie. Problem is, race isn't the issue. It's learned behavior perpetuated over generations.

exactly. and white lower class unwed pregnancies are skyrocketing. the black niche is at about maximum level now so in a few years, poor white people will be at the same levels

it's not race. it's class/culture

I never stated that blacks not staying married is not a problem. I am very well aware that two parent families are the best in most cases. The only time 2 parents are not better is when the relationship is abusive.

I think that it all depends on your marriage choices as well. To be specific, it does not do you any good if you marry the wrong type of person. I also dont believe in staying in a marriage if its obvious you dont love each other anymore.

But for two people who love each other, being together for your family is obviously the best choice

TLDR: Marriage in and of itself does not solve the problem. A healthy marriage built on love, trust, and support does.

I'm anti abortion except for cases where the fetus is a convicted murderer or threat to national security.

as a child of an abusive household i can speak on this issue. on the meta-level, this probably isn't even true

THAT is how bad single parent households are for children's outcomes

the issue isn't who you marry. the issue is who you choose to take the risk of breeding with (and what steps you take to regulate that risk). lower class men (this is across race) have a near anachronistic view of the world. they value strength and virility. having kids is a good thing, and the fact that they don't have to (a) be fathers or (b) pay for the kids removes the primary risks of the endeavor

no

lower class culture has normalized these behaviors/values

non-trash people are still getting married and dominate the market in having kids in situations with marriage/commitment

Your post absolutely, perfectly sums up the single biggest problem facing the black community.

The biggest problem isn't crime, lack of education, lack of dads, lack of opportunities, racism, etc. The biggest problem is lack of accountability.

You spent all that time to justify to all of us why it is okay for 3/4 of black children to be born to single parent households, when you should have made a post on how to remedy 3/4 of black children being born to single parent households.

The "leaders" of the black community spend every once of time, money, and energy finding ways to blame everything on something or someone else. Never is there actual effort to change what's going on within.

The thread about the crazy teen girl yesterday was a perfect illustration. Everyone agreed the girl was crazy and should have been arrested and dealt with even harsher. Put a black girl in that situation and every news network around the country is flying in for interviews.

It's hard for other races to have sympathy for the current plight of blacks at this point. If you want to call that racism, then so be it.

my parents were married until i was in about 5th grade so i got most of the benefits of it (as well as my genetic gifts)

plus my mom was pretty good at steering me properly in terms of values. my anxiety was a natural regulator of risky behavior, too

Well, maybe they should quit doing all that, cause it ain't working.

And making your son bring you a Big Shot orange soda on his way from selling crack is not sharing a meal

Actually teen pregnancy is down big time. Something like 60%+ish?

And it was down in 2016 40%ish.

Just read about a black couple who adopted seven children (all siblings).

Nice story, and hopefully life will work out for the seven kids.

That being said, these are things that will benefit the black community:

1. Marriage
2. Emphasis on education/trade school
3. Rejection of gang culture
4. Stop having abortions.

Can you explain to me how having more unwanted children out of wedlock is going to benefit the black community?

Read the fricking thread. He gave his nonsensical explanation already.. It's stupid and illogical, a testament to emotion not reason that you would expect from someone who lies for a living.

black women are the root cause

Partially right. The main contributor to the continous cycle of black/white youth issues in poor neighborhoods is a federal government that rewards women (both black and white) for their reckless behavior by giving them more benefits for the more kids they have. Cap the benefits for women at 3 kids and watch them stop the mass production of the future criminals of America. They take care of the kids they do have and stop passing them along to everyone else including taxpayers.

I'm older so most blacks I know are not like today's youth, regardless of race.

There wasn't this type epidemic when I was younger, for blacks or whites.maybe a handful dropped out of high school because of it.

Blacks I grew up with and those I work and socialize with today are happily married business folk, lawyers, doctors etc. Very successful.

I've heard the stories about mentoring, church and other outreach for at risk youth, save 1 lose 50.

Black buddies are disgusted and mostly washed their hands of it.

Don't blame them.
