The use of "Lam" was first noted by Alan Pinkerton in 1886. He had discovered that pickpockets used the old English word Lam for "beat it" or "get away" to alert each other of police presence.

Modern fugitive hunters are very skilled and have huge advantages. Unless you have great survival skills and care to live a terrible existence by running like Eric Rudolph, your prospects are very poor.
And when you are caught, you will have lived a very stressful life and will face all of the original time plus whatever you added from escaping and from what crimes you commit while on the run.

Just head to SF or L.A. to a homeless camp. Get a DL without any identification under their lax laws to establish a new identity. While there sign up for the free benefits and supplement with daily shoplifting under the $value of police response.
Won’t take long before they will offer a free apartment, groceries, healthcare.

The huge problem in any city is facial recognition software. There are cameras everywhere.
