In case anyone missed the wind/pressure reports nearest to the center:

NW corner of East Matagorda Bay (Matagorda City)

Matagorda Bay Entrance Channel (near Port O' Connor and ~30 miles SW of the EMAT location)

>

And for comparison, Morgan's Point (MGPT2) and Manchester (NCHT2) (East side of Houston) - closest locations to city

I guess I only got a half a jinx.
It rained just enough to wet the ground.

Barrel looked like Rocky taking blow after blow, then getting off the mat just before the count, rallying in the last round, and coming through the in the end. Hell of a storm to start the season. I hope we don't see anything like it the rest of the way.

That’s why I got out and did most of the clean up today. It’s going to suck balls the rest of the week.

Local media downplayed this storm to get clicks and it bit them. (Us) The minute it was forecasted to be a possible cat 2 in the BOC warning bells should have went off for a wind event.

Power still out for most in East Downtown Houston. Parts of the east end/eastwood have electricity. Found a gas station that had a few bags of ice.

Can you get to Katy from Lafayette? I see road closures but google doesn’t make it seem like it’s the actual interstate???

Thanks.

I drove to West Orange to get a generator and 6 bags of ice. Plus my momma made gumbo so I stopped in Beaumont to eat some dinner.
Having just moved to Spring my AC, generator, fans and lights are all in storage. It’s a 3rd floor unit and the power is out there

Ended up getting one of those 1400 predator quiet generators from harbor freight to charge my freezer with my deer meat. I have an icy breeze cooler to have ac when I sleep.

I took 99 to Dayton to 1960 then Hwy 90 to I-10 with no issues. There was high water in Beaumont and had a lane shut down but it should be fine in the am.

I’m up in Spring off Birham Woods and have no power yet. Just got data back on my phone around 9:30 tonight.
