Not sure if this is business as usual up here in north Mississippi (north of Oxford in New Albany- came up here for work) or if it is some action from Beryl, but the weather just got rowdy. Tornadic-style winds and hail, plenty of lightning. I can’t escape the bad weather lately from Texas to Mississippi.

This outbreak will probably be one that is studied because they're going to be able to accurately survey these. There won't be much conflict between tornado vs hurricane wind damage in these areas.

Katrina did the same thing when it comes to the quick spin up tornadoes in Washington and St. Tammany Parish’s. I was all over both parish’s during the power restoration and it was easy to see the difference between the short but destructive paths VS hurricane winds.

Read CenterPoint had ten towers come down and are focused on identifying the problems and working on a plan..

Ten towers and coming up with a plan… this was a cat 1 and we live on the coast.. what the heck are they building;(
Good Lord if we have a cat 2 …

If you sneeze too hard in Houston you lose power. It’s incredible how often it goes out. If it was a Cat 2 you might as well leave for a week.

Good Luck tBoat, everyone else in the recovery phase, and anyone currently impacted by the remnants.

Everyone, these are a sampling of water levels that exceeded 5 feet at the gauge. The Morgan's Point level was 5.5 feet above the normal high tide.

Remember this was a relatively small in size and 'weak' hurricane of 80 mph at landfall. We all know what a larger, stronger strorm like Ike (2008) can do. Stay vigilant for the next one.

Sargent gauge failed at 2:30 AM

And a couple of river levels reached in a fairly quick moving storm that was only about 6 or 7 hours long.

The Lake Livingston Dam situation does not look good right now.

“The decision was made in cooperation with the FAA to initiate a temporary flight restriction in the area for safety and security reasons. State and federal regulations prohibit drone flights over critical infrastructure.”

Btw, that was impressive how you kept everyone informed today about the tornado warnings.
