So where we at this morning on the fear mongering scale?

Last week everyone was going to die according to some and now we are looking at a Cat 1.

Rainfall forecast. For the Houston area, this is probably something most areas will handle ok. The larger watersheds like spring creek, cypress creek, San Jacinto River will definitely fill up but should be ok with widespread 6 to 7 inches.

Now if that changes to widespread 10 to 12 inches that'll be a bigger issue. And of course if a training band sets up that'll be localized trouble in the urban watersheds.

Normally you would be correct, but I’m concerned about the lake Livingston dam. Two weeks ago they announced it was on “immediate failure watch”
Anyone south along the trinity should keep an eye out. It would be a disaster. Especially if it happens at night when people are hunkered down during a hurricane

Does anyone think there will be flight delays in and out of Bush?

Monday for sure

My mom is leaving Saturday night and no delays or anything from the airline.

And the airline has been very proactive on weather-related issues previously.

Need to look at the wind forecast. If it's over 45mph then yes

Live NW of San Antonio and had no doubts earlier this week we’d end up in the dry side of this bitch. Can’t imagine how nice some good July precipitation would have been over here. Good luck to everyone else in its path and I hope y’all don’t suffer any significant damage.

Something I've noticed lately. They don't publish the pressure of hurricanes anymore. Does anyone know why that is?

We are too far West but up North - maybe some wonderful moisture heading our way - yesterday was very nice, rainfall early and mild the remainder of the day

How often has the prediction for landfall been this off within 4-5 days prior? They seemed to nail its path for the past week.
