This has a lot to do with our decision. We are looking at moving this year, we don't have anything tying us down... maybe Arizona, maybe North Carolina, maybe Pennsylvania. All that matters is where the opportunity is. It's a beautiful thing to have that freedom.

Growing up, we were relocated from Michigan-New York-Tennessee-Illinois. My parents had no problems hauling a family of 5 to new states.

It's your duty to have children.

My wife and I don't want kids right now, maybe not ever, why is it anyone else's business?

Feel your pain brother. My wife and I have had fertility issues for a long time. It was a minor miracle when we got pregnant for my daughter. Prior to that every damn time we went to her family functions it was non stop “so when are you two going to finally have kids?” It would get my wife so upset because very few people knew about our issues. It took everything for me to not call people out about it.

My wife actually is the one who gets upset when people keep saying shite, which in turn gets me pissed off. She's very career focused and not interested in postponing her goals to raise an expensive poop-machine.

Same here. I just brush it off but she gets really annoyed. My parents and her parents no longer do it though because I've shut it down pretty hard a couple of times and made it really awkward.

In general I think parents just want a grandchild. It's actually a selfish thing on their part. Other friends and family that pester you about it are doing it because they see it as an indictment of their lifestyle for you to not be doing exactly what they have done. Like "what makes you think you can just be single until you're 40?" Or "what makes you think you can just not have kids and travel and do the things you want to do?"

ask them to pay for that shite That should shut them up pretty quickly

I've been married 2 weeks and my mom is already starting with that shite. Told her we weren't ready, but we could be ready if they wanted to chip in half of the costs of raising a child plus unlimited on demand free babysitting. She dropped the topic pretty quick.

I'm sure having kids is so fulfilling and omgzzz you don't understand that kind of love until you have a child...

But you know what I do understand? Doing whatever the frick we want, when we want. I'll stick with being the fun uncle.

I see zero issues with this... It's refreshing to see people realize that they feel kids will be inconvenience and burden. I just wish more people would have come to this realization prior to having kids.

Uhhhh.... shouldn’t you two get that straight before marriage?

Because we find a woman who also doesn't want kids?

Fiance is quite clear she doesn't want kids. Neither do I. But we're at the age where people have stopped asking thankfully.

And marriage does zero to change that fact.
