I don’t have kids yet but I can’t see myself being “casually” naked in front of them. At really any age.

When my kids were little (3 and under) sometimes you run them thru the shower with you and the other parent takes them when you've gotten done washing them. I even had friends that took family showers with their kids when they were very young. This was all for convenience sake and no harm was done to any child during this.

It's not out of the ordinary to have a kid see you dressing or (because you can't just let a 2 year old run around the house alone) or for them to barge in while you are dressing.

While I can't imagine anyone just strolling around naked or sitting naked with their young kids, having them casually see either parent naked is just not a big deal to them. Especially if it's not a big deal to the parents.

When one of my daughters was 3 she came in the bathroom as I was exiting the shower, grabbed my shite and exclaimed, "daddy has a tail". I knew at that point it was time for bathroom off limits for her.

By the time they can talk or ask “what’s that???”

My son used to get PISSED when it would rain and we couldn’t swim. So we swam in the pool. I wore my swimsuit.

As long as it's just casual.

Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. 21 When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. 22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside. 23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s naked body. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father naked. 24 When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him, 25 he said, “Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers.”

Slavery? In the Bible? Time to cancel that old Honkey book.

But seriously...was Cannan a slave because he saw his dad’s dong, or because he covered his dad’s dong?

The people of Canaan were the descendants of Ham, who saw Noah naked and told his brothers about it. You have to read between the lines a bit. It’s metaphorical, of course. Ham was disrespectful of his father in his moment of weakness instead of helping Noah like Noah’s other son’s did.

So, Ham’s descendants suffer from it. Since Ham was being a jerk, you can see how his jerkiness will multiply through his generations of descendants.

What the Bible is saying here is that the sin of Ham is intertwined with the whole punishment/reward system that is inherent in the natural order created by God. That is why those nations that are faithful to God (Israel) will defeat those who are not faithful to God (Canaan).

When they're babies it doesn't matter.

It's most important for them to be modest as they get older.

After all, no sane person wants their daughter being a porn star or centerfold.

You’ll know when it’s time to stop letting them see you naked. Unless you’re Gwyneth Paltrow

If they are old enough to walk then no for the dad.

Mom is a different story. Up to the mom and maturity of the kids.

Dad should never be waking around naked in front of their kid at all

I don't get why Americans are so uptight about nudity,

Because humans are sexual beings who are sexually stimulated by visual images, especially the males. It’s not that hard to understand.

Each society has an entire pageantry of societal structures and mores to regulate this very powerful urge in constructive ways.

It's funny to see all these dad responses. I didn't have privacy until my kids were teenagers. And my 15 year old daughter will still walk in to chat while I'm in the tub. My son at least talks through the door now, but he was in elementary school before he started waiting until I was out if he needed to tell/ask me something. They probably haven't busted in on their dad since they were toddlers though.

Yeah. I'm her mom - we have all the same parts. She doesn't sit on the tub checking me out, but it's not embarrassing for her to hang out if she needs to talk to me about something.

bath with your 3 year old child?

As a father myself, I’d never take a bath with my kid, even during infancy, and especially once their a toddler. And for that matter there’s no need for me to be naked around them at any age.

Moms on the other hand, I don’t think there anything wrong with it when their a baby or maybe just starting toddling.

I can see why it’s funny to you and to most people in today’s world. Contrary to the popular notions, we actually live in a very gynocentric society right now where masculinity is misunderstood, mocked, and vilified.

Male sexuality is a potent force that needs proper channeling. Women simply don’t realize that men have no choice about the thoughts that come into their heads constantly.

Mature and responsible adults know that it is best to establish boundaries when it comes to nudity between the sexes. Obviously, there are exceptions and special circumstances to the contrary.
