Before all this woke stuff started several years ago, didn’t race relations seem good?

I remember thinking that at the time. 10 to 15 years ago I remember thinking everyone got along pretty well. Especially young people.

I remember in high school 15 years ago, blacks and whites were friends and hung out, plenty black and white mixed couples went to homecoming and prom, went to the same parties, and everyone got along. I honestly never heard or witnessed a single incident of racism. Not once.

Then fast forward to now, and you’d swear we are living in the Jim Crow South based on how some people talk today.

I feel like real progress had been made over the years, and all of this woke stuff has set it back big-time.

It's still better than it looks on TV

I interact with black people everyday like most everyone else in southern cities

Haven't noticed any uptick in animosity

That’s because this is all an illusion. It’s falsely created, media driven fake crisis intentionally designed to destroy the country and rebuild into some communistic fairy tale la la land. It is not the fault of black Americans (other than systematically voting democrat for the last 50 years). It is the fault of their democratic overlords/ masters who keep them enslaved and use them as a weapon to perpetuate their Marxism.

Something happened in 2008 that was supposed to be awesome for all that, then every media outlet started telling me I was racist for existing within a few years.

I'm still trying to put my finger on the issue, but I'll figure it out at some point.

Would you dare wear a Trump hat or shirt to a mall or sporting event?

People who were not raised around black people, likely went to private schools and live in gated communities get to tell everyone including blacks how race works.

Just ask people, "are you better off and happier than you were 10 years ago? 20 years ago? 30 years ago? what changed?"

Things have obviously gotten worse and most people would agree.

Well, not exactly.. but kind of.

I wasn’t thinking about Obama when making this post. But thinking about it, it seems these extreme groups started organizing when Obama became president. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence, but there was a lot more organized protesting and rioting under Obama than any time in my lifetime. And not by white racists... but by the left.

Then at the end of Obama’s presidency and into the Trump presidency it just kicked up even worse.

I think the time there was a big white protest was under obama and the Feds went and shot the guy over some grazing lands.

Maybe, but a lot of these problems have always been simmering under the surface. Trump running on a xenophobic platform and doing little to distance himself from the racists drawn to his campaign certainly haven't helped though.
