The beach on the MS Gulf coast is so much better if you have young kids. The water is literally a foot to 2 feet deep for like 50-100yds out depending on the tide with very little current. You can let the kids play for hours with just casually keeping an eye on them.

In Orange Beach, the current and waves can get intense just a few yards into the water. If you have a poor swimmer then you need to be on them like a hawk.

It is not remotely close honestly.

I see no reason to contribute to Turtle face’s salary

ETA: Didn’t see a single mask this past weekend

All of this is 100% accurate.Downtown BSL is hopping year round.BSL is God's Country. I'm about ready to sell my house and move back to the camp in BSL if Louisiana keeps this shite up. It's only 15 minutes longer to work for me each morning.

All of this is better in Mandeville/Madisonville/Covington, except for that pitiful MS beach.

What makes MS better financially for retirement?
I know Florida is great for that kind of stuff. What are southern states have good set ups for retirement?

I agree. Dad lives there and it's not bad. Has a Hallmark movie quality to it.

How are all of those old folks handling this Covid surge?

I like the Mississippi gulf coast. I would like to see it improve just like I want to see south Louisiana improve.

I think it's a great place to retire. Mississippi doesn't tax retirement income. Right now Gulf Shores and the Alabama communities east of Mobile are popular for retirees. But it will probably shift towards Mississippi by the time I'm looking to slow down.
