Wait! I saw this in a movie one time. They are going to melt the steel down to make funnels for their rockets. Those programs must really be working!

Any baws on here aware of a black market for structural steel? Isn't that stuff stamped in some way? Would seem like it would be hard to move.

The steel most likely would have already been fabricated/cut/drilled to whatever was engineered. So it can't really be reused somewhere else without significant modifications. And scrap steel isn't worth very much unless it's stainless or some special alloy.

Sounds like a possible repo situation to me

Real governors bring jobs and industry to their state. We bring driving ranges.

Is there anything more NOLA than going to the news for a $300k theft that delays your construction project only to be outed as a repo by the manufacturer or bank?

I’m sure that scrap place gets some weird crap, but they must have laughed their asses off when these Einstein showed up with that stuff.

Funny thing is you can see all the iron laid up on top of the pile from the Claiborne exit ramp.

Wouldn't matter if it was, and it isn't stamped. At least not to be identified to prevent theft. Even if it was it is nothing a grinder couldn't remove.

Honestly, that’s incredible that they were able to pull that off without alerting anyone.

Wonder how the steel companies will respond with replacements?

I think the baws will get captured though the ingenuity of the theft is off the charts

Not 300K but significant.

Criminals are resourceful.
