Iron stolen from Five O Fore development found at scrapyard 10 blocks away

Thieves are so dumb. My company had a job a few years ago where the staff encountered a dead body. Said person was trying to rip out the feeders between the main distribution and the main transformer. Ole baw baw got the full 1200 amp load when his sawzall chewed through the insulation on the first cable.

Well, considering the fact the beams were found in a scrap yard, only ten blocks away, it sounds like they didn't have any trouble selling them.

His partners are Chinese govt Investors with LLC’s set up in Cali. Of all the Asian countries, those “mainlanders” as we call them are the most corrupt, the in your face type of corruption. And yes, I’m of Asian descent that has seen the shrapnel and scars on my dads body from war. Growing up in the 80’s/90’s, I was taught to see if a toy or bike was “Made in China”, we weren’t allowed to buy it. I could go on and on about the local underlying tension in our Asian community …. END RANT.

Something tells me LA leads the nation in these type of thefts as well:

Rising crime: Louisiana had an estimated 800 catalytic converter thefts in 2022, according to research from Been Verified, an increase of nearly 3,000% since 2019’s 27.

Uptown recycling resembles a crime scene, after authorities, recovered 4 truckloads of stolen steel girder‘s from the 504 golf site. Officers from State Police, Jefferson parish, and the New Orleans Police Department are swarming over the property. They have reportedly recovered a lot of stolen material, including auto parts, cables, and sewerage and water Board property. The case was solved with help from Crime Stoppers

““It’s lawlessness. People pulling up with 18-wheeler trucks with trailers on it.” said Wesley West, Jr. of Trident Supply, located near the construction site. “Two hundred cars pass over the bridge. You would think a policeman would see them for the three days they were stealing from this job site.”

West says crime in the area is a recurring issue that has only gotten worse since the paper moved out.

“It’s like the wild west out here,” West said. “We find bullet holes in the wall. We got a bullet hole in my truck last week.”

Frustrated with slow police response times and persistent overbilling from the Sewage and Water Board, Trident Supply has decided to relocate its business, which has been operating in the area for 14 years.“

Given this during construction, what it the world makes the future owner think people are going to patronize this business in Gert Town?

Top Golf execs have to be chuckling and grateful they passed on NOLA.

This new group should get out now, I give it less than 2 years before it closes.

Am I the only one that is a little foggy on the business plan here?
Doesnt seem like an efficient location for an entertainment complex.
I wouldnt go in that area if there was free hookers and marchin powder.

Here's an idea. It may sound a little nuts, work with me here, so here it goes.

*ahem*

HOW ABOUT YOU BUILD A DRIVING RANGE IN EAST BANK JEFFERSON PARISH WHERE THIS WOULDN'T HAPPEN AND PEOPLE WOULD BE MORE WILLING TO GO TO BECAUSE THEY WON'T GET SHOT?!?!?!?!?!?!

Just spitballin'....

It is isolated from the surrounding hood; but yeah not an ideal location by any stretch.

Something doesn't seem right about how this "hiest" went down. I don't think the criminals need to be masterminds to put this together, but they didn't seem worried about hiding anything. Maybe they figured they were justified taking back the iron or maybe the metal company was in on the action until it hit big time.

I’m impressed. Wouldn’t expect something without wheels that weighs that much to be easy to steal.

I am honestly surprised it is that low. I would have thought it'd be much higher.
