I don't remember Mugsy's but I remember buying a Commodore 64 from New Generation circa 1984-85.

We always called Mugsy’s a kinder, gentler pool hall. For the real pool hall experience you needed to go to Greenway.

That location near Sharp is now called Bayou Billiard's.

Mugsy's was named after a great old time Baton Rouge snooker player, Mugsy Mullisivich. He was from Baton Rouge, but mostly traveled the country playing. He played all of the big names in billiards. He was also an extra in the movie The Hustler.

The place on Little John was called Rusty's. I grew up in the Fort Sherwood apartments and spent quite a bit of time there and at Bono's Pizza. Rusty's was a burger/poboy type joint with an arcade, No pool tables. You probably remember Harold, the guy with no legs. He was also shooting pool at Mugsy's.

I spent most of my pool playing days at The Rack on Airline. Occasionally went to Greenway when I wanted to play snooker.

No, different places. I used to go to both of them and they were basically next door to each other, but different places.
Edit: shite maybe it was Mr g’s Nextdoor. I apparently don’t remember where mugsy’s was. Maybe mugsy’s did turn into bayou.

Danny Jones was a snooker champion that would hang out and play at Greenway. I have a couple of his custom signed cues.
Greenway would have a 9 ball tournament at least once a year where no telling who would show up. The action was off the charts 24/7 for a week during this.
Pool, poker, dice, dominoes, backgammon, and illegal poker machines. They would bet on anything.
Then the casinos opened in BR and that killed Greenway as a nefarious den of gambling.
Cops never came in unless they were looking for someone. It wasn’t dangerous which is why I think they left it alone. It was no secret what went on in there but it was just gambling.
