And the federal grants are paying the officers overtime, so it's not hurting the city or the taxpayers.
Yeah no shite...where's that federal grant money come from?

It used to come from the taxpayers but now they just print the stuff whenever they need/want to.

The city parish goverment is a fricking joke along with these cops. To add in - I don't believe for one God damn second these people give a rats arse about "keeping drunks off the road." It's a HUGE racket between BRPD, the DA's office and the courts. It's all intertwined. They've found a cash cow. I pay for salary, frick you. I have no respect for them.

This basically says BR pays better than most Big 4 for managers

Guys...1000 hours of OT really isn't that much, its 20 hours a week? if you work 5 12's it's not that hard..

Nice bump, Corey Reech.

That averages out to 90 hours a week for 52 weeks a year. No way in hell.

Overtime
You have to see what a "minimum call out" counts for. I have seen a call out be an automatic 4 hours. If you call him at 12:15, 12:30, and 1:00am; you just racked up 16 hours in overtime pay for one night.
Eta: damn, what an old thread

I dont think the human body could take it. Especially a job in which you are active. 8AM-9PM, for 365 straight days. Nope, Nope nope nope. Like I said, I dont necessarily think this guy is lying. I am just saying actually working 4,600 hours didnt happen
Do we really want someone that's working those kind of hours paroling the streets with guns? Haven't truck drivers been put on limits for driving? Doesn't sound safe.

Looks like I didn't make the discussion with my salary.

At $195k, I think you're right. It's fricking criminal. Period.

Been a while since this thread. Looks like there were still several PD employees working inhumane OT hours in 2015. Four that registered over 2000 hours and their salaries are listed below. This represents a clear failure in BRPD management in budget control and in my opinion theft from the Baton Rouge tax payers.
Arthur Munz 2586 hours $170k
J Fontenot 2423 hours $181k
Mickey Duncan 2204 hours $140k
Calvin Bailey 2111 hours $69k

Cops at all levels and jurisdictions are the biggest timesheet fraudsters out there.
Its all justified by having to deal with the shitty job. Their supervisor signs off on it because they all do it and a lot of their OT money is reimbursed by private companies so they don't really give a shite.

But I thought police were way underpaid. Don't they only make $30k a year with their high school education? How can this be?

Well go to bquick in a uniform and wait..... maybe some crazy s.o.b. will gun you down or maybe that won't happen. And you think a plant operator who sits on his arse (me) making easy ot for a 6 figure paycheck a year is making a hard living. Slap yourself.

Looks like Calvin is getting fricked
