New web site LINK / that has data on BR.

Shocking but not shocking the number of police and firemen that are in the top percentile of salary. And also the OT pay is almost across the board way more than 1.5X.

Weird. I once was interested in an IT job with BR gov but it only paid $45k.

I should have been a cop instead. State police just got a 20% raise.

I would be pissed if my pay was public record, no matter how much or how little I was earning.

Cops should make WAY more than the average IT dork, their jobs are way more important.

I'm sure the W-2 of each State Trooper is much different than the salary presented when they were asking for pay raises.

Most of them make more than IT guys and accountants that work for the state and local gov. Get wayyy better retirement benefits, as well.

Guy I know retired from state police at 48 and gets $75k/yr guaranteed for life plus COL increases and full medical insurance. He has a new job so now he collects two checks.

Awesome. Now there's even less money for our roads and bridges.

And most probably get 70-80 percent of the salary as a pension for life when they retire.

I'm only seeing 11 people with 6 figure salaries.

Maybe you're counting multiple years and total compensation (insurance, retirement and overtime)? I don't see any regular workers at the top of the list. Its administrators, lawyers, engineers, cops, and firemen.

Never mind.

Apparently nobody knows exactly where the money is coming from.

300 million was just cut from higher ed.

Moody's wants to cut states credit rating for 7 years of budget shortfalls.

But state police get a 20% raise

Wow. That averages out to 90 hours a week for 52 weeks a year. No way in hell.

after digging around a little, his overtime was an issue a few years ago, but now he is working even more overtime despite the sheriff saying he was going to start limiting them.

LINK

2600 hours of overtime is 325 8 hour days. Hard to believe that guy is working that much, which is about 13 hours a day 365 days out of the year.
