I like both states and some of their differences. Both places have problems, but the media perception for MS is much much worse. But anyone with a brain knows about the liberal media and it's role as a propaganda tool, and the obligatory smear job they do to MS. But, hey..yankees that move here, or visit are captivated with the place.

It shows you how the media has lent a big hand in screwing up the country, while leading the public into all kinds of lies.

Kind of like a pillow fight for last place though, isn’t it?

Much better value. Old Town Bay St. Louis has similar architecture to the "cool" neighborhoods of New Orleans. Metairie/Slidell look like everywhere else in the country.

I prefer Mississippi. I'm making significantly more and enjoying a lower cost of living.

I live in Desoto County and we had a chance to move back home which is N. Alabama Shoals area and I accepted the job. After house hunting for two weeks I backed out and bought a new construction house here. Desoto Co is great. It's hard to go back to an industry dead area from an area that is prospering. Everything seemed so run down back home. Kids go to Lewisburg school which is wonderful. We love it here.

Almost can't even compare LA and MS. Totally different vibe.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that most people in Ms are good Christian folk while most people in La are catholics.

I agree. South Louisiana is a shite hole. Thank god we have North Louisiana to make this State half way respectable.

I agree in general. I've been to 46 of the 50 states and there are a lot of them that I wouldn't rather live in over the deep South. The low rankings are because we have a lot of poors. If you aren't one of them life isn't that bad.
