The Jackson area has lots of nice homes, especially in Madison and Rankin counties. Jackson itself, still has several exclusive neighborhoods with 1M+ dollar homes. Jackson was a really nice town a long time ago. There aren't any young professionals around that are old enough to remember.

Mississippi is different. It has old money white people whose families have been here for generations and own literally everything and a bunch of poor black people.
