Loyola doesn’t have part time anymore?

They do but its very expensive. I have known people who would commute to Southern and rented an Apt in BR, which was a fraction of LOYNO.

Not anymore. I think the overall unemployment rates for lawyers and new lawyers are at all time lows. Everyone is hiring if you’re in any area with commerce.

Last couple of years have the number of first time takers from Tulane dropping significantly. Is enrollment down, or are a higher percentage simply avoiding the Louisiana Bar?

Why are they still accredited, and/or why are we still using tax dollars to fund them?

Wait til you find out the federal government came out a few years ago with some bullshite report about how the state underfunded Southern for 30 years and now they want their money.

Those who graduate law school but can’t pass the bar then what do they do end up doing? Think I know one girl who graduated from Mississippi College of Law and is now a paralegal. Assume Bar exam was an issue. Is that what most end up doing?

One of the best criminal defense attorneys that I know failed the bar exam 6 times or so. Then for reasons he doesn't know, he passed.

I've met some very stupid people in my life that have passed the Bar.
There are two lawyers in Alexandria that clearly paid someone to take the bar for them. There is absolutely no way either of them passed the Bar.

Tulane has a bunch of out of state students who aren’t going to practice here.

Anytime LSU is not #1 in bar passage rate, there’s a reckoning. Older grads think they are too nice these days and don’t flunk enough kids out. My class started w 300 and ended up w just a bit over 200. They take less and keep them now. 122 LSU kids taking the summer bar for the first is a really low number.

So we still have too many lawyers.

Because many influential people got Southern Law degrees. The Governor, his bff Cleo (who didn’t pass the bar until his final try), and several of the billboard lawyers. And I don’t have the stats, but their passing rate seems markedly better than in the past.

They always have, which is why they have fewer test takers, generally. I was asking why they've dropped from 60-75 first time test takers to 50 first time test takers in the last couple of years.

You go to Tulane if you can’t get in to LSU but don’t want to go to Southern. ie. You can afford it.
