We had a DJ because we wanted a bunch of different genres that a band couldn't bring. I don't have an issue with bands, some of them are great. But if you have a "jazz band" everyone is going to leave your reception early and talk about how you made them drive multiple hours, dress up, sit through your ceremony, then made them listen to boring shite
