Only place I pay them is New Orleans, because I don’t want my ride booted. Everywhere else they go in the trash.

Baker still doing this. Just got my first this year, 2024. They now claim “could result in court action against you, immobilization of your vehicle, and/or reporting debt to collection agency.

They want $135 now since I ignored the first one.

How has no local taken a sledge hammer, or at least a can of spray paint, to this camera?

I paid mine. The fine is not that much and it’s not worth the hassle or worry to not pay.

Baton Rouge probably doesn’t have red light cameras. Many people see those cameras and think that’s what they are. Cameras are being used nationwide to detect traffic and control the traffic light based on what the camera sees. Most times it works but sometimes it doesn’t.

There's usually one on Main Street/19 just past the old Dumas golf course (which you mentioned), and one on Plank Road near St. Isidore (between Thomas Road and Lavey Lane).

There may be others, but those two are there almost universally. There's also one sometimes coming into Baker from Zachary (from the north) just after the Welcome to Baker sign. Gotta be careful with that one because the speed limit gets up to 65 for a little ways and then drops down to 45 once you hit Baker.
