Was like that in several NS grocery stores last weekend. Chaos. Seemed odd to us just getting normal stuff for the week or so.

It’s also a holiday and was a holiday weekend.

No school right? Banks are closed.

It’s always like that.

Stopped at Zuppardo's around 9:15 this morning.
The line outside for Dong Phuong king cakes was long.
I guess those are a good cure for winter weather.

Why go to the grocery store when cold weather is coming? Because I didn't go on Friday or Saturday. Needed milk, coffee, some fruit, and stuff to make gumbo. Is that an ok enough reason for you?

I believe that he was asking the OP that since he made a thread about people being at the grocery store….while being at the grocery store.

If you were being sarcastic I apologize I am feeling like a warmed over turd and my sarcasm meter is broken.

I swear, for the life of me, I'll never understand the mentality of some people.

When there is a possibility of a bad storm hitting the N.O. area there is usually a mad rush to the stores and toilet paper seems to be a very hot commodity-------------for what reason, I'll never know.

Oh, and all the idiots buying up stuff that needs to be refrigerated. You'd think everybody in N.O. has a generator to keep their fridges and freezers running until power is restored. When power goes out during hurricane season, we all know how quickly the house gets unbearable with heat and humidity.

Shoot. Yesterday I passed up Zuppardos and even the overflow lot was full and folks waiting in both lots. I laughed bc I’d done my regular shopping 3 days ago. And had a small WM delivery yesterday morning of remaining items. Some folks apparently don’t grocery shop until a weather event is on the horizon.

Truth. I go there for meat and other perishables and always park in overflow for easy in and out. For a place as nuts as it is, it runs like a well oiled machine inside. I remember Rouses having like 2 lines open with folks lined up down the isles abandoning their baskets. That’s when I found Zuppardos.

After Katrina up until she died, I’d drive down to Metry every Saturday to take my maw maw to Zuppardo’s

I go every once in a while when I have to go to NOLA for something, not sure what she’d say about the new building

Good thing with perishables this week is if the power goes, just put everything on your back porch.

Context. Regular grocery shopping is fine. The point that you can’t seem to comprehend would be those going to buy up all the bread, milk, canned goods, etc in anticipation that they will be snowed in for weeks.

I get that.
When the discussion started this summer about the saltwater coming up the Mississippi River, I joked with my mother in law for two months because she had brought 10 cases of bottled water.
