You said you see no value to Instagram.

i said no use that's healthy. if you're a consumer that's making a presence on insta (alone) that valuable, then i wouldn't consider that healthy. in the most favorable interpretation, you're promoting false value/status by fictional exclusion

By your mid 30's you should be free of the hive mind. You learn to disconnect and explore who you really are.

i didn't say that, either. i said i use FB as my own anarchist projection mechanism b/c i am more serious on here these days

that took literally years of work. i'm not a good example of any of this i'm an extreme outlier in many respects

And people should be free to discover they want to live in a suburb, work in middle management and raise their kids while playing a round of golf a month and watching a couple of innings of baseball a night. It doesn't have to be a grand discovery.

My buddy has a house there so we just boat around all day, relax/play cards at night.

It's not intended to compete with what someone else in my office or neighborhood bought.

Yeah, I think you are in the minority in that though. Purchases are a status thing for many people.

Its not just buying it, its being seen buying it. This is why the brands all have their names in big letters, so you know someone has an expensive purse, or fancy car, or whatever.

For instance, the wife and I bought a house 5 years ago. And what do you know, some of our friends immediately purchased something. We added 2 bathrooms, and what do you know, they started an addition. They couldn't afford either activity. They were doing it just to keep up with us.

Wife, 3 boys here... and I party more now than I ever did when single. Smoking hot wifey, with smoking hot friends. I started down the path in OP, but turned down a different road several years ago. No reason why you can't do everything... all it takes is effort.

He's posted a hell of a lot of conflicting information about that in the past.

It depends on which day you ask.

He has a sociology degree so probably nothing very lucrative. He constantly tries get rich quick schemes too. Crytpo, very speculative stocks, and now apparently THC ventures.

It couldn't possibly be that these people in the age group/stage in life to buy a home and then to add on their home decided to do so. I'm sure these people bought a home for the sole purpose of copying you and your wife's super unique purchase.
