Paige, I'm not saying that. Just saying that's a miserable life.

I wouldn't say it's hard, but I would never choose that life for myself or my future kids.

Yup, and since my wife and I were both working we were right outside of the range for benefits although my child was covered under Medicaid. Thankfully today we are making far more money and live a much more comfortable life.

Irrelevant stats unless you factor in cost of living. Housing costs are a bitch in the high income states. South comes out looking pretty good when you factor in COL... hence why so many northerners move there

aren't you in a damn good ISD?
We were going to roll over our daycare cost into private school when we lived in Oklahoma. Moved to Texas, did some research on our ISD, and now (most of) that daycare money (2500/mo for two) is going to be a "raise."

I made less than that as a single mother. My son didn’t go without anything and I wasn’t miserable

Don’t get me wrong. Things will be much better when I graduate and we make 6 figures. But a small family can definitely survive and be happy with 60k

CT has plenty of poor people, but they also have people commuting to new york and billionaires/multi multi millionaires that are greatly skewing the average.

Honestly Median household income would be much more useful.

Frick we pull in a pretty decent amount more than the avg household in the richest state. Why do I feel like it’s so hard to save?

None of them post on the OT

Nope, I would not have internet at that level. We exceed all state averages and I'm about to cut off the dish for television.
Definitely do not feel like we're above average, but then again I do post on and read the OT. I'm probably below the average here, and this is where I get my status comparison from.
