I’ve never seen a run of days like that in my40 years of living n LA…. That’s just crazy, plus with the humidity that’s very dangerous….
2010 and 2011 were pretty tough. Heat was earlier, too. In nwla

I remember the Oct 3 2015 LSU/Eastern Michigan game was a tad chilly. A quick search gives me the temps of 73/59. That sounds amazing right now.

That sounds like pure hell.
I don’t even want to be on the boat fishing in this weather.

But I do not believe my gas stove, gas water heaters, my cars or my gas furnaces are causing this to happen.
I can’t speak for everyone in this thread, but I don’t think anyone is really saying that. Some summers are just hotter than others and some are colder. This summer is just one of the really hot ones.

I’d love an unusually cold winter to make up for this

In the long run it usually balances out, unfortunately all this dry weather might end with a flood. Heat ends with big cold. Averages days can be few and far between.

ETA: in SELA

This got me questioning what I thought about June.

Here is the actual vs historic average for BR Airport station:

June
1 92 89.1
2 93 89.2
3 94 89.4
4 93 89.5
5 86 89.6 *
6 88 89.9 *
7 91 89.9
8 93 90
9 96 90.1
10 94 90.2
11 92 90.3
12 93 90.4
13 95 90.5
14 95 90.6
15 94 90.6
16 97 90.7
17 97 90.8
18 96 90.8
19 97 90.9
20 96 90.9
21 93 91
22 92 91
23 95 91.1
24 95 91.1
25 96 91.1
26 90 91.2 *
27 96 91.2
28 97 91.2
29 98 91.3
30 99 91.3

July

1 99 91.3
2 96 91.4
3 96 91.4
4 94 91.4
5 95 91.5
6 94 91.5
7 96 91.5
8 93 91.6
9 92 91.6
10 93 91.6
11 97 91.7
12 97 91.7
13 98 91.8
14 97 91.8
15 98 91.8
16 99 91.9
17 96 91.9
18 96 92
19 97 92
20 99 92.1
21 98 92.1
22 99 92.1
23 94 92.2
24 97 92.2
25 96 92.2
26 97 92.4
27 99 92.4
28 97 92.4
29 100 92.4
30 100 93
31 104 93 (forecast)

All but 3 days in June were hotter than average and 14 days were ~5 degrees or more hotter than average.

So only 3 days cooler than average from the beginning of June through 2today. BR is in SELA so I think it blows the idea of "how cool it was until pretty much two weeks or so ago". Just 2 days in June under 90 and 15 at 95 or over just doesn't amount to a cool June even in SELA.

Data came from WU

It'd be interesting to compare daily highs in August in previous years.

Great post. I’d be curious to see what the daily lows look like over that time period vs the average. I’d bet it would be an even larger difference.

It has been so consistently hot the last couple months at 9-10pm. Don’t remember any summer like this.

Low key reference. No one is going to get that.

Had to do a bunch of outside work today that couldn't wait. I was out there from 1100 to 1900. Late afternoon my Garmin watch was showing 104 at my house in Southdowns. I am hurting now. Dehydrated as hell.

Definitely feeling it a little more this year with yard work. Been cutting, edging, etc. with the same equipment, the same way for 17 years and do it's "warmer".
