The Microsoft Excel Championship wrapped in Las Vegas last weekend.
Andrew “The Annihilator” Ngai won his 3rd straight title.
The Australian actuary beat 14 opponents in various 30-minute case study challenges.
Funniest part: this clip of live-stream announcers losing their minds over pivot tables and data labeling.
What did Ngai get for winning? A $15k cash prize and a glorious Wrestling Championship Belt

Keyboard shortcuts FTW!

Reminds me of when the father of that world champion geolocator came into the OT to talk about his son. There's a competition for everything.
I learned awhile back there's a Minesweeper competition and the science behind how that all works is fascinating.

With that prize money, he'll probably celebrate with an open tab at the bar tonight.

Who performed the halftime show for the big game?

They can't get a better sponsor than $15k? Excel is damn important, seems weak. How can Microsoft not make this a bigger deal as an example? You're telling me microsoft couldn't make it a $500k prize?

This dude should be pulling in $500K a year plus bonus in investment banking or private equity

No joke, 3 years in a row? I'm not sure how there's not a couple of recruiters at this type of event.
