Our neighborhood is off a two lane road designated as a bike route. Cyclist are our biggest problem in attempting to "drive " on the road; however, we do encounter a couple of folks that consistently try to jog on this narrow road that has no shoulder. The cyclist piss everybody off when they are on the road, especially in a pack. Joggers, not so much , but you just have to be cognizant of where you are running.

Realistically, no one wants to hit a jogger or cyclist, but I know of few people that feel compelled to accommodate them. It's a road....for cars.

Joggers should be required to have a license to jog. Their jogging gear should be inspected and they should be taxed to help pay for roads. They should have to obey all the traffic signs.

I fricking hate people self righteous people like you. Did you ever stop and think you are running on a path deserved for vehicles? Is it cool if I drive my Tahoe along jogging trails and ask for people to share the way? Get the frick over yourself or get out of the way. It's very simple

As a jogger myself, stay out of car's way. Pretty simple.

Roads are for cars and bicycles, you're the one who should move over.

It's fairly simple to comprehend how to keep yourself safe, but people like the OP continue to run in the way of moving vehicles and never change their running line. It's infuriating especially in a city like NOLA. I had to dodge into another lane on st Charles to avoid hitting 2 runners today. I had to honk and yell at them about using the neutral ground. It's almost like they want attention

If I wouldn't get charged I would hit these idiots for putting me in danger by swerving around them

Roads were made for carriages and automobiles, not idiots gradually fricking up their knees, spines and hips.

Self righteous? I'm just jogging in my neighborhood trying to mind my own business.
Again, I'm no different than a young mother strolling her baby, a young father teaching his boy how to ride a bike, or an elderly lady carrying a pie across the street to a shut-in.
Neighborhood roads are not the same as highways. Hence the 25 (generally) mph speed limits.

Most cars I encounter do courtesily move over and give a quick wave, it's the assholes that refuse to do the right thing.

As a driver on neighborhood roads: get the frick off the road. You aren't a vehicle!!

Ask your HOA to build speed bumps, walk kids in a nearby parks, kids (especially inexperienced) shouldn't be on a public roads. I underserstand your frustration but you are on a path built for a vehicle, not you

It really isn't difficult to understand. The road is for cars, not for toddlers, 13 year olds with pegs, or old men on shitty wannabe speed bikes. This is not debatable

Run into oncoming "traffic" and have a full view of what's ahead. You should still be on the side of the road so idk what's so hard. Literally a sidestep when you see lights. Never had an issue.

Aren't there sidewalks and running trails for you to use for your jogs? Don't be a giant douche who jogs on the roads I drive on, and there won't be any problems.

The fact that you has to say "should be safe" and "sidestep" when you see traffic proves you should not be running there. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of quiet neighborhoods that let a person run easily, but it still does not give you any right of way. Get the frick out of my way and we wouldn't have these issues.

Interesting you edited your post after mine

The right thing would be for you to not jog on a road that is for VEHICLES.

a-hole = someone who thinks all traffic should drive in the other lane because they can't step into the grass for 3 seconds.
