I delivered pizza in highschool and my freshman year in college.

I had a guy yelling at me to slow down one day on a delivery. I told him I was driving the speed limit (it was something like 15-20 MPH). He responded by telling me that the speed limit sign didn't matter, and that that speed was still too fast. He went on and on about his daughter not being safe because of people like me.

Don't put your daughter in the street then? There's another discussion in there about no one giving any f*cks about your kids but you....however that's better left for another thread

You're assuming everyone on the road is an idiot. While that may be a good thing to assume (ahem, defensive driving), there are just as many idiots running in the streets who don't understand the rules that apply to the streets. My biggest pet peeve is someone bicycling on Highland road. Shite just causes traffic to stop even more, and more often than not the bicyclist is always hogging the damn road.

No, everyone on the road is not an idiot. I've already stated that.
Most, in fact, are courteous. It's the minority that keeps their unlawful 40 mph pace, sometimes having their head buried in the smart phones, which aggravate me.

Yeah I completely understand what you mean. I don't see what's so tempting about texting while driving. I would rather get from point A to point B without having any problems, but I suppose some people just aren't right there in the head to realize that.

I edited the post immediately to put quotes around "traffic"... Meaning I'm using that term very losely. like when you're in a neighborhood, it's still better to have a forward view on traffic bc if you wear headphones then you can't hear, so have a visual.

But yeah, it was totally bc of your post. The quotations.

Might want to check your times. They're interesting.

My neighborhood does not have any. This is pretty big problem throughout my city.

I feel your pain. But like you said, most drivers are courteous to runners but I generally look behind me when there's oncoming traffic and run in the grass if there's going to be drivers on both sides.
Also, yiu can usually tell by the time the car is with in 50 yards if you need to be in the grass or not.

As soon as I saw this thread I had to click to read all the lard asses that post here non stop telling you to get off the road or go run in a park. I don't live by a good Park to run in nor would I drive 20 min when I can just step out side.
Just don't expect sympathy from this group of idiots.

I don't trust a BR driver for anything. At all. Ever. I don't ride my bike to work in this town because of them, I don't walk to work in this town because of them, and I have a hard time trusting them when I'm on the sidewalks going to the shopping centers near my town because of them. This town is quite honestly full of the most aggressive, careless, idiotic, brain dead, cell phone addicted drivers I've seen in my entire life.

Take a look how these morons drive in parking lots - 30 mph in front of stores, not yielding to pedestrians crossing to the parking lot and stores. It's pitiful.

Or better yet, run in the middle of highland road like all of the thug pos's out there. That'll make everything better.

Why do neighborhood runners refuse to use the damn sidewalk? You deserve what you get for running in the road IMO
