Yeah, if they wanted to make the statue look Armenian, they would have modeled the statue off of one of those anti-Semitic caricatures of Jesus. You know the pictures that show Jesus as being some big nosed, greedy, Jewish merchant that's talking about the Holocaust for the 10,000th time?
The Armenian stereotypes are largely the same as the Jewish stereotypes (big nose, greed, talking about a Holocaust), so they could put a statute of the stereotypically Jewish Jesus in the middle of Yereven and everybody would think it's a statue of an Armenian Jesus.
