Was the car being pursued a stolen car? The chase lasted long enough that the police could have checked ownership.

Innocent drivers fault CLEARLY. should have pulled over to the side when he saw the lights in the background.

Hope this is sarcasm, but in the video, looks like they attempted to pull over. When they were hit, car was half way on the shoulder.

Definitely worth almost killing a couple of innocent people for.

promise it is. 68 year old driver is going to freak out seeing the speed if she saw it at all. They were trying to react and you could almost see the indecision based on what their car was doing.

Scary stuff.

Black motorists fault for the tropper being a retard? Sure, pit the guy, but wait until there arent any fricking cars around. This isnt rocket science, but it is physics. Physics doesnt cease to exist because your car goes woowoo and has flashing lights.

The guy in that car I'm chasing might be a mass murderer in a stolen car with a borrowed license plate, so I should probably just pit him at 100 mph on a busy interstate full of normal people who are just living their lives.

Congratulations, your IQ is low enough to be ASP.

Most agencies around the country still give chase, so I guess my opinion isn't that odd. My opinion doesn't matter, since I don't make the rules.

And no, I didn't say to pit the car going 100 on a busy interstate. Use discretion and judgement when to pit. As they usually do.

Edit:
Cleaned up my post. I was way too much of an a-hole here.. I woke up in a bad mood apparently.. apologies.

To be fair that SUV was about a 1/4 mile away when he initially went to hit it and if he had done it correctly, would’ve never known he was there. The problem is the cop missed with the pit and the bad guy then lost control and hit the SUV.

Not saying it was still the best time to do it, given hindsight, just saying there was an “opening” where it appeared safe to do it.

Police shouldn’t be allowed to pit someone into oncoming traffic and if you do and you kill an innocent driver on the opposite side the police officer should be charged with first degree vehicular homicide.

That was not a 1/4 mile, not even close. Id guess 300 feet max. At 130 mph 300 feet is nothing.

The problem is that they usually don't. This isn't a bug with the ASP, it is a feature. They have plenty of videos, several have been posted here over the past few years, and this is how they operate.

What is interesting is that when they make the same decision made in this one and it happens to work out for them people cheer it. Those who point out that this can and will go badly some day get downvoted to hell. Well, here we are......but at least these old folks didn't die.

They've hung their trooper hats on being the badasses that you don't run from because they will get you at all costs. They'll learn eventually.

It turns out that the margin of error at 100+ mph is slim to none.

Yeah, that cop should be held accountable for being careless. If that pit move was needed, should have waited until clear. Imagine being killed or permanently injured bc of this and an innocent driver.

The Arkansas troopers seem to have a lot more of their body cam or dash cam videos than other states troopers do. Keep em coming

So unnecessary - identify the vehicle/driver and make the arrest later in a safe manner.

These days just stick on of those pursuit drones on them and tail.

That trooper is legit retarded. I'd be shocked if he could read and write.

That couple needs to sue him into insolvency
