Hulu is recommending lgbt shows, goodreads is recommending lgbt books. I have never watched a show or read a book wondering or caring who the main character is sleeping with. Thats what porn is for....

No one does but they need to comply so they roll out Rainbow Washing to appease the activists.

Gay shite is fine when it feels organic

David was flaming on Schitts creek and it works

Six Feet Under it works

It doesnt work when it is blatantly shoehorned in a la Stranger Things.

They try and hijack things that are not gay, like Optimus Prime with Pride flags, but to answer your question, no. No normal people give a shite. It's all fake virtue signalling. And most of it is an immediate no from me. They spent more time in Stranger Things with Will's coming out than the monsters they were facing in the scenes surrounding it. Absurd! No one liked it because it was clearly their idea of having no shame in pushing an agenda.

On TV, the gay shows are probably what's known as a loss leader. You lose money on the gay shows, but in theory it makes a portion of the population more likely to watch your other shows.

They didn't make a thing of it, and in fact, used it for humor at times... the throuple, for instance.

I think the primary purpose of that is to allow those who are seeking an outlet and/or a connection with someone like them to find it.

If you’re not gay, you shouldn’t have a problem either way with it.

Perfectly legitimate question. Now let’s see if we can tie the OT in a knot!

Another perfectly legitimate question is “Are there really people that would NOT watch or read books/movies because the characters are gay?’

Probably not.

That’s to push it in people’s faces

It’s also pride month so in order to support the homo’s, you gotta read about Sam taking his lovers pulsating member in his mouth

Gay, black, etc., whatever. Viewers are not dumb and can tell when something is forced or wedged in.

It's an instant stop watching for me when I feel I am being spoon fed some narrative.

I have watch plenty of movies/read books with gay characters and it made sense in the narrative.

The worst is when the person being gay is completely irrelevant to the story, but they have to make an off-hand reference to their "wife" to let you know they are gay to score the points.

Far fewer read or watch because the characters are gay than won't read or watch because the characters are gay....and it is the same mind set.

Man you gotta get over that....Taylor Sheridan makes some damned entertaining TV and every second of it is about pushing an agenda.
