A little etymological info on the variations that come from helicopter. It's a rebracketing situation. People have assumed it is heli-copter. So you get words like gyrocopter. However, the combination is really helico-pter. The second part is from the Greek word for wing, as in pterodactyl.

I’ll stick with my Vertibird.

I have a vertibird from my youth. Rescue version with the space capsule and the astronaut in a raft. There was a hook on the bottom and you could fly up and “rescue” the astronaut and then carry him over to the landing pad.

You can fly one all the way to the day you die though.
Also, it should be called a gyropter.
Gyrocopter etymology would follow helico•pter and the word gyroco just makes no sense.

Is that the move when you get out of the shower and sneak up on your wife and sling your wiener around in circles?
If so, then I'm your pilot.

Autorotation if your engine fails, just like a helicopter.

I once kissed another man on a dare.
Probably the closest thing we've got here.

They autorotate down. Actually safer then they seem.
