Pretty much all I buy when it comes to TV's is Sony. They have the best customer service in the business as well. They really went out of their way to take care of me about 15 years back and I have never forgotten it.

Up to $2000, around 55''.

Wait are you saying you are willing to spend $2k or you've found a 55" TV for $2k?

You can spend half that and get a great TV.

Sony was my first flat screen, bought in 2009. My boys use it today. Samsung I bought in 2016 had to be replaced in 4 years. I went back to Sony. Picture is better and it will last for just a few more bucks.

Sony X900H is one of your best bang for the buck. The 65" was on sale for $1000 during black Friday. Should be on sale again soon as new models come out.

I'm still using one I bought in 2009, works perfectly, never had an issue.

The kids have one that I think is older than that

Ours is probably 7-8 years old. No issues other than the remote was kind of cheap but I just replaced it with a universal.

Zenith is the way to go. High quality wood and workmanship. Doubles as a useful display table.

Sony probably the best tv manufacturer out there right now. LG just has better value with their OLED.

Samsung is the brand I don't get. Never had anything but failures with their TVs. Picture is good till it fails

I've gone with Samsung's for years and have always been happy with them. I have one that I've had since 2008 or 2009 that is still going strong.

I just got a 75 inch Sony with latest tech for 1k

You can spend $750 for a 75" with the "latest tech" or you can pay $4k for a 75" with the "latest tech", and you would certainly see the difference between the two. What specific model did you get?

Used to be excellent. The first Sony hdtv I saw was a 34" crt at best buy in Arlington in 98. $8k.

Now the last good plasma was probably Pioneer Kuro and those are now extinct.

The difference between high end tv's and low end has gotten very narrow.

I don't care for bells and whistles. Just want to watch movies and sports, and occasional need for internet. Family member swears by ROKU.

for $2,000???

If you're stuck on a 55" and dont care about the bells and whitsles, you can find plenty of options for half that amount and cheaper. Its not just the brand that matters either, its which model it is

I've got a 58" Samsung plasma that still looks amazing and works perfectly about 10 years later. Moved that to the bedroom and got a 75" Samsung Q80R which is fantastic. I'm loyal to Samsung, but also considered the Sony X950.
