Not a Sony but our current Vizio has been a far better TV than the Samsung it replaced.

I had been a Samsung fan for a long time but went with Sony on the last one and I have been very pleased. It will depend on where in their line-up you are targeting.

Up to $2000, around 55''. It's a gift offer.

(Subtle brag - I've never purchased a TV )

I've had a Sony Bravia for about 4 years now. Great picture but the smart features aren't good enough for me to forgo a Roku, random updates that can go for half an hour are annoying, and it took them 2 years to enable the picture in picture feature that was advertised on the box. Even once they did the PIP is pretty much worthless b/c you are forced to use an antenna for one of the inputs (so no Roku/cable box combo for sports) and it's more of a side by side rather than a true picture in picture which reduces the two picture screens to maybe a quarter of the size of the TV's normal viewing screen. The menus like most Sony products are somewhat cumbersome. Also, the stand can't swivel so I can't turn it towards the window when I'm grilling outside.

Basically other than it being about to output 3D (which almost nobody makes content for anymore) and 4k I prefer my old Samsung.

Vizio

I'm still using one I bought in 2009, works perfectly, never had an issue.

Thanks for the info. I don't care for bells and whistles. Just want to watch movies and sports, and occasional need for internet. Family member swears by ROKU.

We need a thread on products that the OT officially sponsors.

I gathered that the OT supports Michelin for tires. So that's that one

I have a TCL 65”...beautiful picture, ROKU TV...Price is right....the ratings are the highest of all off brands...and with the price, if it lasts 3-4 years, I am pleased.

I bought the Sony x950h a while back and couldn't be happier.

I looked at TVs online for weeks trying to figure out what to get until I decided to just go look at them and decide for myself.

It was a solid TV for the price and was probably the best picture in my opinion that I saw outside of OLED (which are pretty awesome) so I just got it. We aren't huge TV people but have had the same one for close to 8-10 years so we needed an upgrade.

Same here, buy the Vizio and you'll be pleased. It's also less expensive than the Samsung.

Screw Sony. They fudged me on a Wega machine years ago. Never again.
