WAAAAAY too small if you're in a position to spend on a $2000 TV

I like Samsung but they're slowly getting passed by Insignias in our house (2 40" Chromecast, a 50" 4K Fire for my youngest kid, and 55" 4K Fire for my oldest.) I'll always pick Samsung for my cave and our main TV. I almost went with Sony a decade ago but at that point you were paying a premium just for the name.

You'll want a 4K smart TV at a minimum. I like the Fire interface but they scream disposable TV (the 55" was only $250 at BB on BF.) Personally I'd go with a 72 or 82" Samsung 4K with Chromecast. If 52" is big enough try to find a decent deal on an 8K. Regardless remember with 4 or 8K you'll need a new blu ray player to maximize its features.

I have mostly owned high end Samsungs in the past 8000 or 9000 series.

I bought a 70" Sony last year and a 65" LG OLED for bedroom. Prefer to have all the same stuff but somehow managed to pick up deals that caused me to end up with one from each brand.

I would still say Samsung's menus etc are better than the others and by far the LG is the worst. I completely avoid doing anything with the LG besides just showing picture from Cable or Apple TV. I find their software and remote to be a giant pain in the arse. I use a Harmony remote and simply avoid their UI completely.

Picture quality the OLED obviously crushes the others in a dark room, I would say the Sony is maybe a little better than the Samsung in my game room when it comes to flashlight effect but its also a 2 year newer TV.

I have another 8000 series Samsung thats probably 8-9 years old and still going strong, still has a great picture. I also have a Samsung on my back porch thats lasted around 6 years now with 1.5 of those being outdoors(under a roof) but nothing to protect it from temp or humidity.

Hopefully the Sony and LG do that well, and hopefully my wife doesn't burn logos into my LG, been considering moving it to my office and getting a non OLED for bedroom.

My 2008 40" Sony Bravia power supply died the week before Thanksgiving. Picture was still great but would turn off after being on for a few minutes. That TV was on 14 hours a day for 12 years. I can't complain after 61,320 hours of use.

I have a TCL 65”...beautiful picture, ROKU TV...Price is right....the ratings are the highest of all off brands...and with the price, if it lasts 3-4 years, I am pleased.

TCL is a pretty good deal in most market segments. Big, small, budget, high-dollar... they seem to be in the top 2 or 3 regardless.

I’m about ready to pull the string on a Sony X950H in 85-inch for $3500 at Best Buy. The opposition is a Sony 77-inch OLED for $3900 and an LG 77-inch CX OLED for $3450.

The OLEDs look a bit better but that 950H is brighter and bigger. Plus I’m still rocking a 9-year-old Panasonic 65” plasma that looks great but is going to the bedroom. The plasma and OLEDs have a lot in common and my den begs for a bit brighter set. And I’d like bigger for immersive effect.

It’s not a need but more of a wanna.

I have Vizio and Hisense TVs throughout my house and I have zero complaints about them.

Dafuq. They're expensive (comparatively) but solid.

The 'new thing' race is heated.

TVs are becoming very disposable.

I'm running TLCs and Vizio now.

I'll add that I won't be getting cable or dish. The only reason for use will be Netflix, Sports...and that's about it. May use the web a little.

My main TV is a higher-end Vizio and it has been great. I had several smaller ones in my kids' rooms and all of those have developed issues over time. I had a bigger Vizio in my master bedroom that we moved into the kids' playroom (no issues with that one, either) and replaced the bedroom TV with a Toshiba Fire TV. Also added a TCL Roku TV to replace one of the kids' Vizios and both of those have turned out to be very good thus far.

An incredible value but owned in China. Would suggest not supporting the brand.

Vizio is a quality budget product and American-owned. All of their manufacturing is in Mexico, China, and Vietnam though.

I bought a 77” Sony OLED on Black Friday. I couldn’t be happier with it so far.

You just described about 90% of the tech industry. Might as well go back to chalking up caves if that's the angle we're taking.

Now the last good plasma was probably Pioneer Kuro and those are now extinct.

My 60" Kuro is still going strong and has some of the best picture quality I've seen in a TV.

I used to be a big Sony guy but I've shied away from Sony products since they wouldn't stand behind a DVD player and a Playstation 3 I purchased years ago. Both had known quality issues, which were heavily reported on A/V message boards at the time yet Sony wouldn't acknowledge them.
