I remember when I was about 10 or 11 and spending the night at a friend's house who's dad had a giant satellite out back . We only had an antenna at my house ,so I didn't know what this was. His parents let us stay up and watch TV late . My buddy had a remote that would move the satellite and he picked up some channels in other countries.
First time I'd ever seen stuff like that , basically porn on tv,
His dad had a stash of mag's hid too , they were in his office bathroom under the sink. I don't think I ever thought about girls that way until then but from that point on I was

I had a stepfather in those days that had boxes of old Playboy's stashed in the garage. When we discovered them all the neighborhood kids would gather around. Later in life I do realize that was destructive thing for youths. Fast Forward into modern day society and here we are. I don't see the positive of any of it.

You'd go over to a friend's house back then and the #1 rule as a kid was not to mess with the satellite.
Kids would get their arse beat if their dad came home from work and turned on HSE to watch the Astros and the satalite was fricked up because a kid had messed with it.
if the satellite did get messed with by a kid it was some real wizardry because every system was different.
There was always a kid designated to move the satellite dish. Would go out in the yard and listen for somebody to yell 'STOP! ... no you had it go back!'

Was a morale builder, and also a team builder. You may have not gotten along with somebody at work but you kept it civil because you had an arrangement to trade that month's penthouse for perfect 10. Was also a buzz of excitement when new stuff came in the mail.
So yeah, was good times. Was peak America. But it all got ruined at some point by the usual suspects.
