I didn't notice the weekly Boomer bashing thread posted yet, so I figured I'd be the one to get the ball rolling here.

Modern commercial pornography first reached mainstream popularity with them during the late 1960's and 1970's. Gen X then helped carry the torch with further proliferation going through the 1980's and into the 90's.

I'd say at least half of my grade school friends (Millennials) had an irresponsible Boomer father that was careless with his stash. Several of my buddies were inadvertently exposed wayyy too young because ol' boy couldn't hide his tapes or mags very well.

Hell no... it took a crap ton of work to find and hide an entire magazine or more often a cut out picture, much less figure out how to get it into and out of the bathroom without being caught. We had to put in serious effort to whack it with more than just our imagination or scrambled skinamax. On top of that, if somebody did come across the holy grail of a video, it was gosh awful 70s porn with bushes the size of Afros, and then it was nearly impossible to get to watch it alone.

These lazy little bastards today are walking around with hot and cold porn on tap at 12 and 13.

Even with stuff left around and mags at every gas station, it was all still pretty damn mysterious and we had to work our asses of to get what we had.

Bunch of rednecks and coon asses growing up in the 1980s but them motherfrickers somehow knew everything there was to know about C-band tv satellites in geostationary orbit, unscrambled satellite feeds and what shite to order out the back of soldier of fortune magazine to make it all work.

Credit to the pioneers of porn with a 4m dish out front.

How about, you know, not looking at porn and celebrating it?

Yes, let's blame a generation for a handful of Supreme Court rulings which let the porno industry have free speech. From Potter Stewart's humorous comment about not being able to define it, but knowing it when he sees it, to later rulings which took the limits from that industry, the law granted the ability for this to flourish.

Shitters at work had a magazine rack with porn mags up until around 1999 / 2000. Then for some reason there was a big cultural shift and porn got less accepted in the workplace and banned.

Then they came for the NAPA calendars and those got banned too.

By the time Gulf war 2 came around everything was digital. People still had stashes of vhs tapes though that would get passed along. Seemed like magazines were more rare but a lot of places had haji satellite rigs w/ porn channel that ran 24/7 in the background. Closest there ever was to a mutiny was some dude getting tired of it and changing the code on the satalite.

No. The single person most responsible was Al Gore, when he invented the Internet. Before that, sexual materials weren't so widely and instantly available.

Personally, I blame ABC (T&A) television network for Baywatch and Wonder Woman, and then Saved by the Bell and Britney Spears. All post-Boomers.

Ah yes it’s definitely your boomer grandpa who had a playboy mag in 1972 and not these disgusting porn companies and social media algorithms that target children with sexual content at a very young age and intentionally screw up their dopamine receptors so they keep coming back. Brilliant short answer bud

Anyone remember subliminal advertising? One frame of popcorn mixed in with 29 frames of the movie ad or S-E-X in the bourbon ice cubes in magazine ads?

It’s just human nature plus technology.

Platforms like OF allow women to be whores today without even being in the same room as a man - any man. No sex, no strip club crowds, no club owners, no pimps, no Hugh Hefner types. Just your own camera and an empty room.

And if you’re lucky enough and the stars align, you can essentially be a whore without even taking your clothes off and maintain some degree of decency. Livvie Dunne doesn’t have 8 million followers on TikTok because she was such a good gymnast or has fascinating insights into anything of substance.

Women crave money and attention, and today’s technology makes it exceptionally easy for reasonably attractive women to use their sexuality to acquire one or both from men.

So we have hypersexualization.

Guess who lobbied to legalize porn? Guess who controls the entertainment industry that shapes western culture among many other things?

Boomers are responsible for all of society’s problems and none of the good things.

People that blame Boomers for all of society's ills are no different than BLM, the alphabet people, or any other "persecuted" group.

They never, ever want to accept responsibility for their own actions and it is easier to blame someone else for their own failings.

Nah. History is cyclical. See the fall of Rome... it was sexual perversion on full display. Pretty much every great civilization fell due to sexual perversion.

Modern dims are too stupid to not repeat history, so here we are.

T'was whomever invented the pill... so I'd say the boomers just came along for the ride.
