re: Arby’s Closes on Burbank, who you got for the 2026 restaurant shutdown in BR?

think Atomic Burger shut down too.
Bought a burger there on Saturday. Still open. A cheeseburger, fries and coke was $16. Was very good, but they're quite proud of their food.

Better question, did McDonald’s on Nicholson by tigerland close?
The parking lot is a paid lot for football games now. The building has been sitting there going to waste. Don't know they're putting up new buildings down Lee when this place is there.

Too many options at Burbank and Lee. Arby’s has no chance when that many competitors are walking distance.

Came to post that Captain D's on Government would close because they just shut down the only 2 locations in Shreveport and Bossier.
It's already closed.
For what ever reason, Captain D's has always been my guilty pleasure in a state with exceptional seafood. It's getting hard to find one these days.

It's been closed for years. Corks, another fast food seafood place opened not too long after, and it's really good.

These two for sure. No idea how either of them is still in bidness.
I like McAlister's in general because often times I'd prefer a "fast" sandwich over a fast food burger. I was happy that McAlister's moved into the area. Unfortunately, the service is so bad, Popeye's level bad, that I stopped going long ago.

I’ve been saying this is BR Burger Kings last year for no less than 10 years. I have no idea how they stay open.

I'm not saying Arby's is bad, but it's not a place I ever consider going to eat.
Where else can you get a good Turkey sandwich via a drive thru?

I don't want them to close down because I like it well enough and I wouldn't want the building to sit, but every time we go into Rotolos Craft and Crust on Burbank we wonder how they remain open. Seems they're never busy.
Maybe because there are a million other locations, that can prop them up financially. It also appears they do lots of huge orders for LSU athletics.

Arby’s Closes on Burbank,
it closed like 15 years ago.... is a Taco Bell now.

In that area, it seems like when a restaurant closes they open two or three. They have built a Panda Express and Fuego Tortilla Grill across from the Benny's and Chipotle is taking over the old Chicken Salad Chick location.

Didn't that just open within the last year or two? I like Arby's from time to time, but can't say I've eaten at one in years. So maybe it's partially my fault.
But back in college that five for five meal deal shite was awesome. Goodnight, sweet prince.

They closed it when the opened the one by the Rouse's at Burbank/Lee.
Which is odd bc they also closed the old one that was on the other corner of Burbank and Lee.
Why close two bc one new one opened?

It’s because Hightower isn’t involved anymore. He made those restaurants work.

Yeah. I get that places move to more populated centers because it is proven to be good for business, but selfishly, I hate when this means abandoned buildings.
If true about Canes moving into there and abandoning the Lee Dr. location, that's disappointing. Not just because of the abandoned building, but also because the whole excitement about Arlington Square being build was the potential for so many fast casual places we don't currently have in BR.
I can't say I'm excited about Chipotle, Canes, McDonalds, Panda Express, etc. when we already had those.

I expect a lot of restaurants to close in that area. Too many options in a small space for college kids to choose from. AM Mart will always be around, but I could see hungry howies and others falling off very soon.

LOL. Wow. I googled it when I saw your post. It is closed.

I'd be curious how Wahada is doing. Such sweet people there, but it is DEAD compared to when I was in college when I go to pick up takeout.
They were probably always more of a takeout spot than dine-on since it's very no-frills, but they were never as dead as they are now.

Wow
Had no clue honestly. That place was a great spot when I was in school. We didnt have many options though.

I always saw it as consolidating the two that were fairly close to each other. Also the one on Burbank and Lee was the old design. McDonald's doesn't remodel, they tear down and rebuild. The new location is about the halfway point between the two old ones.

Yeah, Hungry Howies filled that niche of being open until like 3am or something. Many, many nights we would order Hungry Howies once we got home from being out.
